There are many causes for the "Check Engine" light to come on. Most are related to the pollution control components of the vehicle. The primary cause, however, is the gas cap. Be sure that when you put it back on, you tighten it right up to the point it clicks then turn it another half turn (it won't hurt the cap). If the gas cap is on tight then take it to a mechanic and have them hook up to the computer to read the fault codes.
hi, engine light came up this morning? what could it be?
I changed my rediator and the engine light came on and remained on, how do i get this light off
Came up to a stop light and when the light changed the car would not move.
your map sensor is fine , there is a short somewhere so your ecu is not reading it your map sensor is fine , there is a short somewhere so your ecu is not reading it
why the engine light of my subaru came on after i washed the engine
The engine computer detected a fault. If the light is flashing it is serious, shut the car off and have it towed. If it just stays on go to a parts store and see if they will scan your cod3es for you.
I had to reset my computer sensor so that the light would go off after I had mine changed.
What engine light? If you are referring to the check Engine Light, then the computer has detected a problem that effects the emissions controls.
Clean the MAF. Then clear the code.
the engine light came on becasue of a malfunction in the car...
Replacing the battery should not have triggered the check engine light. The check engine light comes on when there is a problem with the emission system. Saying that, I would drive it for a while to see if the light does go out. If the light does not go out have the ECU scanned to retrieve the trouble code. Then use this code to diagnose the problem.
the check engine light has to be cleared with the scanner, that wipes out the codes and resets. Answered by Littlestown Lube & Brake Littlestown, PA 717-359-5022 light will still be on. Black tape on dash light, best solution i can find.
