Could be the washer vibrating in the bath faucet/mixer. Over time, washers can degrade and become floppy or develop a rough surface. High pressure water over the surface can act like air past a Clarinet reed. Opening the sink faucet takes the water feed pressure off the bath faucet, stopping the vibration.
it is run off of a different line from the main water supply. you may be able to trace it from the hot water tank and see where it branches off.
Mine is fine! Yours is where the problem is. There is too little information here to answer the question. Troubleshooting would be to start at the faucet and work backwards until the cause is found. Are we talking water that starts and stops or hot water that runs out and becomes cold?
This condition is caused by "water hammer". It's water pressure fluxuations caused by turning faucet on & off. To fix the problem, attach (solder?) a length of pipe, as long as possible, but 16-18 inches should suffice, with a cap on the end, installed vertically, with a tee joint, behind the faucet. Anywhere in the feed pipe near the faucet is OK, but the closer the better. When water is brought back up to poressure, a air shock absorber is created, and will solve your water hammer problem.
