If the engine is overheating and you have checked all other causes of overheating. Start the engine cold and immediately remove the radiator cap. Look to see if you have flow. If not, the pump is more than likely bad. If the pump is leaking, making any noises, or the shaft can be moved from side to side, the pump is bad.
i have the same problem, i am thinking it might be the water pump?
The water pump may not be pumping water due to a clog in the pump, a malfunction in the motor, or a problem with the power source. It is important to check these potential issues to determine the cause of the problem.
Water pump shaft loose? Water pump leaking? Water circulating in coolant system?
First is the pump good? Next is there power to the pump?
No circulation.
If your water pump is running but there is no water pressure, it could be due to a clog in the pipes, a malfunctioning pressure switch, or a problem with the pump itself. It is important to troubleshoot and identify the specific issue in order to fix the problem.
