To add Transmission Fluid to a 2002 Ford Explorer, first ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is running. Locate the transmission dipstick, usually found near the back of the engine bay, and remove it. Using a funnel, pour the recommended type of transmission fluid into the dipstick tube, checking the fluid level frequently to avoid overfilling. Finally, replace the dipstick and ensure it is securely in place.
Unless you have a LEAK you shouldn't have to add automatic transmission fluid on a regular basis
Where do I add transmission fluid to a 1994 Ford explorer with a manual transmission?
Through the automatic transmission fluid dipstick tube , at the back of your engine , slightly to the left ( looking from the front of the Explorer ) by the firewall
dipstick tube
Should be a plug at the side of the transmission - fill to this level
Transmission fluid is usually added through the dipstick tube.
The transmission does not have a dip stick, you will have to add the fluid at the body of the transmission. You can blame that on GM for designing stuff like this. You will want to take that in to get topped off if it needs it, unless you are handy. I just change my fluid and it was a pain to do. I had to buy a hand pump and it took forever. I miss the old days when each manufactor made their own transmission, and wanted you to check the fluid.
In a 2002 Ford Explorer, the transmission fluid check is typically done through the dipstick tube rather than a bolt on the transmission pan. To check the fluid level, you should locate the transmission dipstick, which is usually near the back of the engine compartment. Remove the dipstick, wipe it clean, reinsert it, and then pull it out again to check the fluid level. If you need to add fluid, it’s done through the dipstick tube using a funnel.
There is a fluid check/fill plug located on the front of the transmission. Add fluid there until it is level with the bottom of the hole.?æ
On a 1995 Ford Explorer ( automatic transmission ) You use a funnel and add transmission fluid through the dipstick tube ( it is located in the engine compartment , by the firewall , towards the passenger side of the vehicle , where the transmission is bolted to the rear of the engine )
In the dip stick tube .
On the 2002 Mitsubishis Lancer , you add the transmission fluid down the dipstick tube. There is a specific fluid for manual transmissions , that information is in the manual under Fluid Capacities.
