very difficult!! it involves lowering the front H member. disconnecting all the lines which are still in tight spaces, unbolting the steering shaft knuckle, securing the steering wheel so you do not damage the clock spring, and unfastening mount bolts and heat shields. Mark your tie rod ends or count the the threads before removing as this will set you at near alignment for installation. Next you transfer all parts that were not included with the replacement unit and install using reverse procedure. prime the Power Steering system and follow up with a front end alignment.
If it had a carburetor , it wouldn't be hard to replace - it's fuel injected
Take it to a good mechanic. Too hard to do it yourself. Ed
You order one from your Ford Dealer and pay $70, or you go to a junk yard and look for a junked Ford Contour. That shouldn't be hard, since mine should be junked, but I'm still driving it. It sounds to me like your clutch is going out,you should replace it as soon as possible.
it would be to hard to replace the trans. in your vehicle, unless you have a lift, engine support and trans. jack.i would take it to a respectable dealership,or trans shop.
Yes they do have struts and they aren't hard to change
It is not that hard to replace a fuel pump in the 1970 Ford Torino.
I have a 2000 Contour and there was a 19mm stud between the armrest and seat. It is hard to see and get the wrench on.
it is hard to replace the speaker because the ford explorer needs accessories manufactured by the same manufacturer
Front pinion. So you have 4wd. Its not the end of the world. Remove drive shaft. Bolts in the middle. Then remove the pinion seal. It will definitly suck on your back. Try to find a lift.
Several thoughts are low tire pressure, binding strut bearings/mounts, binding chassis parts such as tie rods, a bad rack and pinion, bad power steering pump, no fluid in power steering pump or driver with very weak arms. pukenstein@aol.com
