I have the same problem with my 95'. I don't think its the ignition module, try to clean the battery clams with battery cleaner or might even have to change them. I think there is a guage on the dash that desplays the battarie power, check that if it jumps when u give it a little throttle then it probobly has something to do with battary. If this is not the problem i think you should just sell this car because you will have way more problems(trust me i know) and it eats fuel like a monster...(says it gets 16-18mpg on normal conditions, but trust me, it eats fuel)
****Also if your car is making some noises when it is off, this means the compressor is on , and you air suspension has a leak, the air compressor will also kill the battery.
Ive not got an answer, I have had my megane for six months. I open my car with the fob turn the ignition, sontimes its starts and sometimes it dosent. I have to take my key out of the ignition lock and unlock the car. It just seems to start when it feels like it. Anyone got any advice.
Ignition switch going bad, corroded or loose battery cables, starter relay or starter going bad.
well sometimes when you try to start it it starts but shuts off again. sometimes it just doesnt do anything when you turn the key. i thought my ignition swith didnt work on my 98 prelude but i called Honda and told them the problem they told me that it could be just a relay next to the switch so i bought replaced the old one and it turns out that's what it was. you should try that first being that it only cost aroun 60 bucks and the iginition and swithch cost hundreds more. well sometimes when you try to start it it starts but shuts off again. sometimes it just doesnt do anything when you turn the key. i thought my ignition swith didnt work on my 98 prelude but i called Honda and told them the problem they told me that it could be just a relay next to the switch so i bought replaced the old one and it turns out that's what it was. you should try that first being that it only cost aroun 60 bucks and the iginition and swithch cost hundreds more.
If you know the value of the resistor you can cut the wires going to the lock cylinder and solder in a resistor of the correct value.
ignition coil.i had the same problem
yes it doesnt have a key lock so its normal
it doesnt really change, it sometimes fades but it doesnt go from orange to green or purple to yellow. :)
