You shouldn't have to remove the airbag in order to replace the gas gauge light. The steering column is held up by a couple of retaining bolts. Remove these bolts and the steering column will lower enough that instrument panel will come out easier. The steering column won't drop to the floor when you do this but will hang in midair. If you have a tilt wheel, you might have to adjust the wheel tilt to allow the panel to come out easier. Don't forget to remove the steering column cover though.
Take out the fuel gauge and fish for the magnet inside the fuel tank. Then disassemble the fuel gauge to replace the broken magnet. Reassemble and replace. Done...

you must remove the puel tank. the fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank. remove the battery cable, remove fuel tank, remove gauge assembly from inside the fuel tank, disconnect wiring harness replace fuel pump motor on inside of gauge unit, reverse procedure to complete job. if you are mechanically inclined you can complete the job for the cost of the fuel tank, $50.00 to $75.00.
you need to replace the gas gauge sending unit in the tank, or your gauge is broken
Your thermostat is getting stuck, replace it.
just take out the gauge cluster and remove the bulb. simple as that.
Remove the instrument panel cover from your 2002 Subaru. Remove the fuel gauge retaining screws. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the fuel gauge. Reverse the process to install your new fuel gauge.
Remove oil sending unit and replace with a mechanical gauge
take off the upper 3-4 screws on dash/gauge panel (attaching to dashpad from below), remove panel, remove press clips holding gauge lenses to gauges (optional), then remove the four - five mounting bolts holding gauge assembly, replace bulbs which are accessed on the rear of the gauge assembly, replace in reverse. good luck.

You switch off the pump, drain the pressure tank, then remove old gauge and fit new one.
you don't! remove bezel for gauges, remove four screws for gauge assembly, pull forward and tilt, replace the four bulbs.
The fuel gauge is integrated into the gauge cluster. To replace the gauge you need to replace the entire assembly. You will need to remove it-which is very easy, and give the dealer the number from the back. It will take a couple of days to get a new one. I'm in the process of doing one right now.
you have to remove rear seat ,under the seat there's two covers , one is for the fuel pump , the other is for the fuel gauge sending unit .Remove cover on passenger side and remove fuel gauge sending unit .
supposedly there is a cover in the trunk that you can remove to access the top of the fuel tank to replace the fuel pump and sender
There is a black ring that you have to remove first, and then you can remove and replace the bulb. You have to look close, as the area is tight, and it's hard to see the ring.
no it is not required if the pump is in the tank
