How do you replace an alternator on a Mazda 323f p reg is this a easy job?

The alternator is below pipework and fittings and will take a long time to remove - according to my mechanic. Going to do it myself even though it will take me even longer!

Your 2001 Mazda protege has eaten up 5 alternator belts in 2 mos The alternator has been replaced Still the belt sqeaks very loudly threatening another eating of the belt?

Make sure the alternator is mounted square to the crank pulley and the bolts holding it are the right size. Some bolts have a bigger diameter that the threaded part or there are bushings in the alternator. If the wrong bolt was used or a bushing was not in the hole in the alternator, it will sit at a slight angle and tear up the belt. No reason it should be damaged, but make sure the crank pulley is tight and running straight. If it had a slight wobble that would do it also.

Why does a 1998 Mazda 626 have a rough idle while it is in Park?

It probably needs a tune up. My 1998 Mazda 626 was idling very rough, so I did a tune-up by replacing the spark plugs and wires. This made the engine run better, but the rought idling continued. I took it to my mechanic, and he found a vacuum leak somewhere, and $270 later, it idles smooth as glass

What is location of egr boost sensor on 1999 Mazda 626 V-6?

It should be on the upper left side of the firewall. There is typically a single vacuum line running to it, along with one electrical connection. Most Mazda EGR boost sensors are made by Hitachi, so if it is the original boost senor, it should say Hitachi on it somewhere. If you follow the EGR lines around, you should find it eventually. By the way, EGR boost senor issues are a common problem on all Mazda's made around this time and a dealer should know how to fix it.
