Automatic Transmission Fluid I have a Mazda Protege 5, 2003- with 32k miles. Mazda hand book telling me to use ATF-MV. The dealer ship is selling this for $ 8.00 a qut. can you recomend a general ATF brand that I could buy at at a local parts store for less $. Also do I have to do a transmission flush or can I just drain and remove the pan and change the filter? Thank you. Jerome
it takes ATF MV
It as a special formulation of Transmission fluid made specifically for Mazda brand Transmissions. At the moment the only place to get it is at the Dealer, otherwise people have said synthetic multi-vehicle fluid works as well but I do not advise doing so as damage may occur.
Mercon V (Mercon 5 ) (MV) transmission fluid
It takes automatic transmission fluid type mv i could not find this fluid aftermarket and got it staright from the Mazda dealer for around 6 dollars a litre
