You need to prepare with 2 flat end screw drivers. Firstly, undo the 2 or 3 screws of the metal cover which covers the two plastic lenses with a philips screw driver. Now, the two plastic lens covers are infront of you. Take one of the flat end screw drivers pry from the top of the lens cover which you want to place the light bulb. You have to pry it as hard as you almost break it then you'll see either on the far left or far right of the lens (depends on which side you pry the lens on) has a little plastic piece (which is a snap reverse hook for the lens to snap in tight when they first install the lens). Now, you use the second flat end screw driver to push the little plastic piece towards the center of the lens housing, then the lens will pop out of the hole. You can now replace the bulb and then pop the whole thing back in. You don't need to go to the service man or the dealership to pay them to replace a simple license plate light bulb. I found Mercedes's design is great, but it can also be a real pain in the a.. to have the simple thing done by the owner. Send me a email if you still need the diagram. Good luck.
