As this site is international, you must look up your local draft regulations.

Normally it is

- Age

- minum physical standards, weight, height

- Most have a minimum mental IQ test, and it is not any good to try to be a dummy to avoid draft

- Here in Brazil, if you are 18, you will more than likely go in for a year before you start university. In other countries depends where and what you are doing for schooling.

- And if you are gay or what ever, depends upon each country as now days, being gay is an excuse to Dodge the draft so will not work.

- And when I was young, the lottery (first time) started in the US, in middle of the Vietnam War and my number was 306, meaning really only a full war I would be drafted, and I was already in the ROTC for 4 years.

Almost anyone is suitable for a soldier world wide, and there is nothing wrong with serving you country. If done right, you can get a lot of benefits including upper education paid for if you qualify. My friend, from more than 55 years ago, went thru university, joined the Army and is still there, and very high salary as an engineer.

So go talk to your Navy, Army, Marines, Air Force or what ever unit you like.
