As this site is international, you must look up your local draft regulations.
Normally it is
- Age
- minum physical standards, weight, height
- Most have a minimum mental IQ test, and it is not any good to try to be a dummy to avoid draft
- Here in Brazil, if you are 18, you will more than likely go in for a year before you start university. In other countries depends where and what you are doing for schooling.
- And if you are gay or what ever, depends upon each country as now days, being gay is an excuse to Dodge the draft so will not work.
- And when I was young, the lottery (first time) started in the US, in middle of the Vietnam War and my number was 306, meaning really only a full war I would be drafted, and I was already in the ROTC for 4 years.
Almost anyone is suitable for a soldier world wide, and there is nothing wrong with serving you country. If done right, you can get a lot of benefits including upper education paid for if you qualify. So go talk to your Navy, Army, Marines, Air Force or what ever unit you like.
