alright, I'm going to be honest with you. Braces? SUCK. When I first got my braces they felt fine directly after the appointment but felt numb, but about an hour later they started to KILL. I tried ibuprofen and that didn't seem to help in the slightest! So the pain started to go down after a week, but i STILL couldnt eat anything like Hot Dogs and Hamburgers. After 12 days, I could FINALLY eat pizza but don't even plan on eating chips for awhile! They say to eat things like macaroni and cheese when you first get them but DON'T!! It hurts like hell. One of the best things I had when I first got my braces was lobster bisque or even try clam chowder! any chowders are great! But I couldnt have the oyster crackers even inside the soup -_- and brink water with you everywhere you go because it will help sort of sooth the pain with the gums :)

To me the braces doesn't hurt. Before thinking of getting braces think of a person putting super glue on your teeth it doesn't hurt that bad. Then you can choose your color for your braces 1 time every month. But if you put your braces like when you are 17 it hurts more so I recommend you to do your braces as soon as possibleI took out my braces already. =]
Do chips hurt if you just got braces?
Yes, my sister says so, she has braces and I have 3 braces on my back teeth. They do hurt to eat with braces the first week, but trust me, you'll get used to it. Hope this helps! :-)
