That's a hard question to answer because we don't have all the facts. The U.S. has been accused before of coming in, destroying, promising to stay to the end to help the people they are supposed to be defending and then bailing out (bringing the boys home) so, this may be one reason the troops aren't coming home yet. My opinion, this war has been based on lies, Propaganda and no weapons of mass destruction were ever found and no more word of Bin Laden. It's time to bring the troops home. Too many lives are being lost for all the wrong reasons.
President Barack Obama set a date for our troops to leave Iraq in August 31, 2010 i believe
No, he did not. President Obama had promised to withdraw troops and end the Iraq War; but he was also willing to leave a residual force in Iraq. Unfortunately, the new leader of Iraq at that time, Nouri Al Maliki, did not want American troops there, and no agreement was reached to keep them there. Therefore, no residual force was left in Iraq in 2011 when US troops came home.
NO!
Iraq never started any war with US
Operation Desert Shield in 1990, was the US military build up, and verbal directive to Iraq to leave Kuwait. Operation Desert Storm in 1991, was the US military use of force to remove Iraq from the country of Kuwait. Which was done by Feb 1991.
The premise underlying this question is incorrect. The Iraq War ended on December 16, 2011. The reason that the US stayed in Iraq until that point was in an attempt to stabilize the country. The United States should have continued to stay as the country was not completely pacified, but such an act was politically untenable.
NO!
YES!
Definitely not, but it is one of those opinion questions. But I think Americans should get the heck out of there and worry about America, and not Iraq.
US did not decide about it. US came to Iraq for stay, not for leave. actually US was forced to leave Iraq, not intended to leave Iraq. so US did not have any plan for what will happen after leave. Shia Muslims themselves are more political and have more power in Iraq. Well that is not what happened! The US Military took over Iraq and defeated the Military that was controlled by the Sunnis. After the USA defeated the Sunni Military they disbanded the Sunni Military. If the USA had left the Sunni Military in power they the Sunnis would have controlled Iraq, but the USA disbanded the Sunni Military and Sunni Government and allowed the majority Shii take over. WHY DID THEY DO IT! Saudi Arabia and the majority of Arab governments are Sunni controlled and you can bet they were not happy with the Bush Administration and the USA allowing the Shia taking over Iraq and bolstering Iran that also has a Shaei government! Why did the USA put a Shia government when they could have left Sunnis in power?
yes they should ha babetoston was here
No. Once the sgt is granted leave it is all up to him at that point. He will still be on the army payroll.

We should be more focused on the youth in our nation right now. When we fully recover from our recession we should then focus on the well being of other nations such as Iraq
No.
The US's objective is to gain oil from Iraq.
