In the late 1700's as the US Constitution was being formulated, slavery was not only legal in America, but legal in Great Britain. The Southern plantations were an economic base for cotton and tobacco exports. This however, was not the core of the problem. The problem was that there seemed to be no real solution to ending slavery in an orderly way. This was true then and the same problem carried forward to 1860. Lincoln wrestled with this for years before becoming US President. Almost every alternative to find a way to end slavery seemed to run into a blind alley. Looking back is 20-20 hindsight. In the times between 1789 and 1861, the way people thought and believed were far different than we do today.
the Founding Fathers avoided the slavery issue because it would've disrupted colonial unity (because the north and south would've been arguing) that was much needed in creating a union/country.
The Framers did not avoid the slavery issue when creating the US Constitution. Since there were only 13 colonies/states, Georgia and South Carolina would not ratify a constitution that abolished slavery. As a compromise to do something about slavery, the South agreed that all importation of slaves would end in ten years.
SC and GA wouldn not budge on the question and the framers wanted to have a united front against England.

The Framers avoided making a decision on whether to abolish slavery mainly because they feared that neither sides (North and South) would ratify the constitution, since the Northern states wanted freedom for African Americans and Southern states wanted slavery.
What were the economic reason the framers avoided the slvaery question

They knew the colonists followed many different faiths, had more or less gotten along up to that point, and wanted to avoid the problems England and Europe had had based on religious intolerance, and government-sponsored churches.

Yes, there is a very good chance that the banks will cause another economic meltdown. The only way this can be avoided is if the government puts forth true bank regulation.
