Can somebody help me...i am in deep trouble. I don't have anyone else to talk to.... Can't even tell my mom about this....?

I see that you are twenty three so by now you should know that we have profesionals for a reason get a woman if you feel uncomforatable with a male but by all means you have to get over that fear the doctor will not judge you and she/he has dealt with things far worse than a girl with irregular periods which could be something as minimal as stress, diet, or a medication you take already such as Birth Control. I am a male and I went through the same things when I was 18 and getting my first full physical I was feeling those exact feelings insecure and thought the idea of a doctor checking me out naked was invasive but I did it and it wasn't it felt like I was getting a regualr check up because the doctor doesn't do anything to make you feel that way, also I would get a female anyway you can request one and I think this sholud ease your worries. Good luck and finding out what the problem is can't wait because it might be somethingmore serious but letting it go won't help you at all. I would also like to add that you should be able to talk to your mom about stuff like this it is natural human function so you shouldn't feel embarassed and your mom is suppost to answer questions like this talk to your parent/parents it doesn't hacve to be about everything but you will probably see that they are your biggest allie in life and are supposed to help you through tuff times like this. give it a few years and you will feel silly for thinking this way to begin with I will be 31 this year and life is flying don't help it by stiffeling yourself mentally or physically see a doctor as soon as possible. Do you live in the USA I am Canadian so health care is free here I know this is a problem for the states I was just wondering I don't have anyone else to talk to....................

The problem is that my periods are irregular infact very irregular...........

Sometimes they start after a gap of 3 months, sometimes 2 months, sometimes they start for one day and finish the next day...........

Yes my mom has adviced and even forced me visit a gynaecologist but the thing is that I have this perception in my mind that if I go and visit the gynaecologist, he/she will check my genitals, I mean I actually have to remove my clothes in front of him or her who is a stranger................

I know almost everyone has to go through this phase especially women for example when delivering babies.............

But I really can't stand this thought................

I know my problem may become worse if I don't visit the gynaecologist..................

Please somebody help............
