the srs system needs to go through a self check then the codes will be able to be cleared.this will only be reset if the relevant parts have been replaced .there are many reasons why the lamp may be on,all the codes and details will be retained in the srs ecu for ever.this information will be used in the event of an accident .There fore it is not in anyones intrest to try and switch the srs light out unless the faults have been repaired in a professional manner
