To whoever posted this question, in case you don't already know, Australlia, Canada, New Zealand and the United Sates are no longer colonies. They are now independent nations.
As for Northern Ireland. it is no longer a colonie of the British Empire, it is a home nation of the United Kingdom (full name: United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland).
So I hope that answers you're question. ?AnswerIn case you didn't know it, a colony is... 'an area of land in one country that people from another country settle in and control.' (Oxford Everyday Dictionary).
I absolutely believe that todays colonies will be returned to the natives. Take the Roman Empire for example, it was a very powerful force. It conquered Europe and parts of Africa into submission. It colonised wherever it went. But visit Rome today and all you will see is ruins. Broken stones and crumbling remnants of past glories. The mighty empire of Rome no longer has colonies.
Colonies never last. Just like the colonies of Rome that are now back with the original inhabitants, so too will Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, the US etc be given back to the natives in the future. Colonies are built on violence and injustice; they are undeniably temporary.'Colonisation, is always inhumane. It must ultimately amount to an encroachment on the rights of the original inhabitants in favour of the intruders. If this is unacceptable then one must oppose all colonisation, which at least would be the logical attitude.' (Theodor Leutwein).?AnswerI'm thinking the straight answer to the question is an unequivical No. ?AnswerYes, all colonies will be given back to the natives. Injustice never lasts forever. ?AnswerBut all that said it has to be borne in mind that for all its failings (& I accept the failings are numerous) the British have made a pretty good case for the Empire they once had. As Imperial Masters go the British have been as good as any in all time. that's not to say the natives are, or even should be, grateful. But as it says above: The answer is still No.... ?AnswerThere is no doubt about it; these colonies will be given back. The natives have had to endure the injustice of seeing foreigners gain control over their land. I am quite sure that if the roles were reversed the word "Injustice" would be echoed through the streets.
