The brake light switch is located near the top of the brake pedal. When the pedal is depressed the switch is activated and sends current to the brake lights. To access the switch, the under dash panel needs to be removed.

The brake/turn signal wire on the right side is dark green. Your taillights and bumper lights are a brown colored wire. You also have a black ground wire. I ; those are the wire colors for the rear lamps on my truck anyways. I own a similar Chevy truck. Good luck. I ran into one that may shed some light.
