Queen still tours today, but they have the name of "Queen +" along with the performer who will be performing with them. From the early 1970's to 1991, Freddie Mercury was the lead singer, but unfortunately, he had passed away on November 24, 1991 due to bronchial pneumonia (brought on as a complication of AIDS). John Deacon retired from Queen in 1997 and has not (if not rarely) been seen in public since.
Freddie Mercury passed away on Sunday, November 24, 1991 at the age of 45.
Queen never broke up. It is still going strong to this day. Freddie Mercury passed away in 1991 and John Deacon retired in 1997 so it is not the same as it used to be but Roger Taylor and Brian May are now the remaining members of Queen and they have performed with people such as Paul Rodgers and Jessie J. But Freddie Mercury died in his Kensington home in London, England.

The eldest daughter of Martha Jean "The Queen" Steinberg is singer, songwriter and recording artist, Dianne Steinberg (a.k.a. Diane Steinberg Lewis). Introduced as an actress, with Peter Frampton and the Bee Gees in the RSO movie, "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", she played the role of "Lucy" In The Sky with Diamonds. She has recorded albums with Atlantic Records, ABC Records, RSO and Word Records (Rejoice Label) and her own label, Inspiration Time Records. Well-known to 'The Queen's' listeners as a performer and arranger in the music industry, Dianne also composed WQBH's station ID cues, trailers and DJ theme songs. When Martha Jean passed in 2000, Dianne stepped into her mother's role as host of the Inspiration Time mid-morning show which developed a burgeoning fan base affectionately dubbing her "Detroit's Own Lady Di". Since 2003, she resides in California with her husband and two children, and is still active in music as an arranger and accompanist for performance groups in her area.
Diane Steinberg Lewis, (a.k.a. Dianne Steinberg), co-starred in the (RSO) Robert Stigwood Organization's movie as "Lucy" in the Sky with Diamonds with Peter Frampton and the BeeGees. It was her only movie. When her mother, known as "The Queen", passed in 2000, Diane carried on the legacy behind the microphone, hosting her mother's long standing show, Inspiration Time. The show aired from 10 am until 2 PM, Monday through Friday and followed posthumous re-broadcasts of her mother's taped messages (Reflections of The Queen). During her college career at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Steinberg was a newscaster on the campus station, WIDR Radio. She graduated in 1971, with a Bachelor of Music in Public School Music (Keyboard Major), and a minor in theory and composition. In her biography she gives accounts of her performing days as chanteuse and pianist, and actress honed from Community Theatre and Post Graduate studies in Theatre at WMU, but sites her three years in radio as "one of the most compelling experiences" of her life.
