Depends on if you're going backwards or forwards....if forwards you should keep the vehicle in D (for Drive) unless you are towing a trailer on hills and then and only rarely should you drive it in 2nd. Please consult your owners manual or a trailer specialist for further info. If using it off-road please get more info with a more direct question as your Jeep will work wonderfully if used the right way but your question doesnt give enough info to go into all that. Your question should contain more info as to specific driving conditions (mud, snow, rocks, trail riding, highway etc) that might suggest that you do anything other than put it in Drive.....Better info gets better answers.....
1993 - 1998 will all be swapable. just make sure you have the same gear ratio as the front.
3.73 or 4.10
To find out if a 2000-2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee power steering gear box will fit on a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee, call your nearest DIY auto parts store
not for sure because they come with different ratios, but will tell you that you can call your local dealer and give them the vin. number and they can tell you what it is suspose to have in it. each one of the numbers and letters is very important for thing like when it was built, engine size, color, gear ratios, and so forth, so as long as the rear end hasn't been changed they should be able to tell you what ratio you have in it
I know in mine which is a 4x4, it means the 4x4 is engaged. The little care picture thing is your vehicle information center. When it is in just 2 wheel drive, only the lights for the rear wheels should be on.
80W90.
final axle ratio 3.55
Not sure what you are asking here, but if you are asking where the gear shifter is, then I am begging you not drive.
It has a chain with a cam gear and crank gear.
Put is in D (Drive) the highest gear you have on an A/T. On a manual you drive in 5th on the highway.
If the transmission in a 1998 Jeep Cherokee skips second gear when it's cold, the bands might need to be adjusted. There could also be an issue with the rear clutch.
My 1997 would not shift out of first gear, was 'throttle position sensor'.
D4 on an automatic and 5th gear in a manual.
OD.
No put the gear shift into neautral
In a vehicle, a driving gear is the gear which is driven by the engine. The driving gear helps control the speed the vehicle is in.
First gear and drive slowly
