I have a '99 Taurus. There doesn't seem to be an antenna plug near the dash. The only one I have found is near the antenna itself in the left rear fender well.
you will have to go buy a antenna adapter... its a long wire that will plug into the back of the anatenna and then run it through you back seat and then under your bottom trim to the center control center if you have any Q's email me at CobraJet_07@Yahoo.com. i just put a new CD player in my 1998 Ford Taurus and i have a lot of good tips for people
I'm not sure about the Taurus wagon, but I had to replace the antenna on a Mercury Sable wagon. The radio module is located in the left rear trunk space behind the wall trim. You will have to remove the module to replace the antenna wire. Hope this helps.

First thing to check is the fuse - See "Related Questions" below for more
I have the exact same thing with a 2002 Mercury Sable GS Not sure but I think it is some sort of vacuume leak somewhere
sorry, there isn't one..read up on the system ... everyone should have a manual for their vehicle, and the library should have a professional shop manual available in the REFERENCE section...make copies of the right sections...good luck :)
It needs the code. Call, your dealer. That has nothing to do with it. Got to a ford or mercury dealer and they will tell you they no nothing about it. It is the fleet installed cell phone that is causing the problem. Turn the car on, turn the cell phone on, wait a minute, the turn cell phone off. Radio will the work. If you do not still have the cell phone handset, get and hook it up. then do as above says. I had the same problem, and solved the problem by turning cell phone on and the turning it off again.
No 2011 Mercury Sable model , but there is a 2011 Ford Taurus
