Internal problem with the transmission. Take the car to a professional ASAP. Do not keep driving the car or you may do permanent damage.
To check the transmission fluid on a Nubira that doesn't have a dip stick 1. crawl under the car on the passenger side 2. find where the axle enters the transmission 3. remove the plug just to the front(opposite firewall) of the axle and on the transmission. The plug is the fill level, if no fluid drains from the plug, fill until it does, if any fluid spills out you are at the safe operating level. My recommendation is to check all of the fluids, after you know that are at normal operating levels sell the car.
Possibly low of transmission fluid. Check the fluid level per the instructions in your owners manual. If the fluid level is OK, have the fluid and filter changed.
you put the fluid in the dip stick hole, at least that is how it is on my ford aero star
low fluid level, faulty soleniods/shift valves/worn clutches....
It "could" be that it is LOW on fluid in the transmission or the fuel filter is plugging up for a short period of time. Check the fluid level.
On a 1997 Lincoln Continental : The automatic transaxle ( transmission ) fluid level dipstick is in the engine compartment , near the brake fluid reservoir ( when looking from the front of the vehicle it is to the left )
The dipstick to check the transmission fluid on a 2004 Lincoln Aviator is located along the left side of the engine. It connects directly to the transmission and also serves as a filler tube.
As far as I know there is no automatic transmission fluid level dipstick on a Lincoln LS , the dealer has a way of checking from underneath the car
There is no dipstick for the transmission. To check the transmission you have to open the Transmission Resivior and see the fluid level in there.
Transmission fluid is added to most vehicles in the same place that you check the fluid level. Pull the transmission fluid dipstick, insert a long funnel in the tube and add fluid there. Remember transmission fluid is added by the pint not quarts.
Ford has no conventional way to check the transmission fluid on the 5R55N. The car has to be put on a lift and a goofy little plug pulled out of the side of the transmission. If the fluid level is at (or close) to the same level as the plug, you're OK. Not a job for home.
I was looking at the 2000 Lincoln LS Owner Guide and it shows that the 5R55N automatic transmission does not have a fluid level dipstick
You can check the transmission fluid level in your 1998 Chevrolet Corvette with the transmission fluid dipstick. The transmission fluid dipstick will have indicating marks as to the level of the transmission fluid.
To check the level you have to lift the car up and remove the center plug in the drain plug on the transmission pan. These cars have a sealed transmission no dip stick to check the level. The center plug opens at the full level point of the fluid.
On a 1997 Lincoln Continental : The automatic transaxle ( transmission ) fluid level dipstick is near the firewall , towards the drivers side of the engine compartment , where the transaxle ( transmission ) is bolted to the engine
The Lincoln LS does not have a transmission dipstick. To check the fluid level you must raise the car on a lift. When the transmission is no hotter than 120 degrees F, remove the smaller bolt on the bottom of the transmission pan. A small amount of fluid may run out. Then remove the small bolt at the vertical back of the case and add fluid there until it starts to run out the bottom of the case where the other bolt was removed. This is the correct fluid level.
On a 2001 Lincoln Town Car : The automatic transmission fluid level dipstick is in the engine compartment , near the firewall , towards the passenger side of the vehicle, where the transmission is bolted to the rear of the engine
