Why is the US government spending millions of dollars to help the people of Iraq when the money could be used to help people in their own country?

Part of the reason the nation limits the number of LEGAL immigrants is that we do not want them to become a burden on our social services. Almost all nations require that people have a means of supporting themselves before allowing Immigration. If you go to Mexico, Candada or any of the South or Central America nations, you'll find that laws exist which require that immigrants be able to pay for their own expenses. Iraq efforts, on the other hand, is the result of a dictator who had killed millions of his own people in the name of racial cleansing. At the end of WW2, when the world found out that Hitler had been murdering so many people, we were condemned for failing to get involved in the war sooner. Some suggest that we ignore the efforts of the rest of the world. When Sadam started to invade his neighbors (as happened in Germany during WW1 & WW2) the rest of the world has a responsibility to maintain regional stability. Allowing a madman to build empire and power only results in disaster for the rest of the world. Personally I think it's because ( As what i have heard) Goerge Bush just wants Iraq's oil.
