As a Democracy, Brazil has a bill of rights that ensure that Brazilians can have a say on Government's acts and decisions - which can be considered truth generally. The Practical implications on government over Brazil's citizens would be:

• The common tasks attributed do a Democratic Government - provide health and care, Education, Safety and general welfare; though all public services are now, precarious - Brazilians pay taxes that are above Swiss, and return with public services under Uganda levels.
• Corruption, which affects directly living expenses, feeds poverty and keeps social and economic inequity at alarmingly levels - UN studies revealed that corruption costs around US$ 100 Billion each year, more than the government invests on Health and Education combined, which was around US$ 90 Billions the same year (2012);
• Free Speech : In 2013, during the protests that flocked around the country, majorly against corruption, the police was instructed to repress using rubber bullets and spray pepper (even on pacific demonstrations) hurting the right of protesting and free speech, this goes against the Brazilian Constitution.;
• Pres.Dilma and Parliament reps from PT party (Workers party) are sanctioning laws that would allow the Government to regulate and control what media can report about Government. This goes against the Brazilian Constitution.Again.
• PT governments increased the benefit for poor families all over the country (Bolsa Familia) which provide financial health for families who earns less than US$ 300,00 month, which now, covers around 55 million families ensuring something around 135.000.000 electors, as an smart plan to keep themselves reelected.

Unfortunately, the ways Brazilian Government are affecting its people have been majorly disrespectful - citizens have been treated as cash cows. As a result, i.e. Brazil has the world's fourth largest automotive merket and the world's most expensive cars, the most expensive electronics and on and on...

Feijoada, churrasco, escondidinho, caipirinha, carreteiro, pao de queijo, quindim, vatapa, moqueca, farofa...

Now you know the name of the food, but what is the food like? Let me elaborate...

• Feijoada - A meat and beans dish, generally with beef and pork, served with some vegetables and rice. Very tasty, though it can be a little heavy. It is the national dish for Brazil that is also served in Portugal, so it is in the "must try" category.
• Churrasco - Basically any kind of grilled, skewered meat.
• Escondidinho - Slivers of meat baked in layers of potato puree and coated in cheese. It's a little like a Shepherds Pie with a top layer of baked cream cheese. An awesome dish.
• Caipirinha - An alcoholic bevarage mixed with Chachaca, sugar and lime.
• Carreteiro - A very tasty casserole with meat, peppers and tomatoes served with rice.
• Pao de Queijo - Cornflour bread buns filled with cheese. An excellent finger food that everyone seems to love.
• Quindim - A vanilla and coconut custard dessert. Very sweet and very delicious.
• Vatapa - The first time I tried this, it tasted like a satay and coconut seafood dish... exactly what it is, ground peanuts and coconut milk casserole with shrimp.
• Moqueca - Another fine Brazilian seafood casserole. Fish with a variety of garden vegetables, though its often steamed and not boiled in water.
• Farofa - This is a tricky one to explain, but it is basically a special blend of flour baked with butter and meat, normally something like pork or bacon.

Now you know what they actually are... how would you assume they would taste? At least you now know what you are ordering.
