How many horses are in a chess game?

Seeing as to how each side starts with two knights (horses) there are four knights at the start of the game. If a pawn is promoted to a knight there can be more than four knights on the board, but this doesn't usually happen.

Where does the promoting piece begin?

Since the only piece that may be promoted is a pawn, a "promoting piece" begins on the second rank for White and on the seventh rank for Black. The numbering of the two ranks is done in accordance with standard algebraic chess notation.

I think the person asking the question means that he/she want to know where the promoted piece is placed to begin its moving. If this is what the questioner meant by their question then the answer is this:As the original answer person stated, only a pawn can be promoted. For a White pawn to be promoted the White pawn must advance onto the last rank on the Black side which is numbered as rank #8. For a Black pawn to be promoted the Black pawn must advance onto the last rank on the White side which is numbered as rank #1.For which ever color pawn to get promoted, at the point where the pawn reaches the last rank of its opponent, the pawn to be promoted may promote to either a Queen, Rook, Bishop or Knight. The promoted piece is then placed on the same exact RANK AND FILE that the pawn reached on his opponents last rank to begin its move.

Math problem chess board tale?

This may be a reference to the old tale of the "clever" individual who challenged the ruler of an ancient land to a chess match. There are variations on the theme, but this is it.

A man challenged a ruler to a chess match. The ruler asked the man about a wager, and the man said he'd bet his life against some grain. The "catch" was that the amount of grain the ruler would have to give the man if he won was one grain on the first square of the board, 2 grains on the second square of the board, 4 grains on the third square of the board, 8 grains on the fourth square of the board and so on. You can see what's coming. But the ruler could not.

The ruler agreed, the match was played, and the man won. The ruler ordered the man to be paid, but when one of the ruler's advisors was called in to help settle up, this advisor informed the ruler that they didn't have the grain to pay the man. The ruler would have to have ponied up 263 grains plus 1 to honor the bet.

An approximation of 263 grains is 9.223372 x 1018 grains. Or 9, 223, 372, 000, 000, 000, 001 grains of rice.

Why does white go first in chess?

i guess because one side had to go first or that the Persians,Arabs and Indians from which the game derives just chose white to be more superiour

___________________________________________________________________

Actually, sides often alternated going first until the second half of the nineteenth century. Often we don't know if an older game had white or black move first because "white to play" has become standardized and older games are compiled with white moving first. Any connection with "racism" is historically ignorant hokum.

What are the positions of the chess pieces in the queen sacrifice?

There is no one single position for a Queen sacrifice. A Queen may be sacrificed at any point in the game under any circumstances. However, if you want to see a beautiful Queen sacrifice, look up "Legall's Mate." White allows black's bishop to take the white queen and white mates black on the very next move.
