a lighter can contain many different parts depending on what kind of lighter it is. a zippo type lighter consists of : 1) The Case usually chrome plated brass or stainless steel. the case consists of 4 parts. 1) The top 2) the bottom 3) the hinge 4) a small piece of metal that a spring loaded arm rests on to keep the top closed the hinge is soldered to the top and bottom peices of the case. the "arm rest" is soldered to the top 2) What I call the fuel cell, which holds a absorbant material (usually cotton) and a wick which is basically a string that is soaked in naptha (lighter fluid) and is ignighted by a flint when a steel roller is spun by your thumb. The fuel cell is a removeable part of the lighter that you pull out of the case and fill with lighter fluid. The cotton soaks up the lighter fluid which soaks the wick wiith fuel. The fuel cell also has the spring loaded arm that keeps the lid closed, and a small tube that extends from the bottom thru the top for the flint. At the top of the flint tube is a wheel that looks like a section of a file. this is turned to create a spark to ignite the wick. At the bottom of the flint tube is a small thumb screw with a spring attached that feeds the flint to the wheel. The flint and the wick are the only parts that you need to replace so these kind of lighters are very reliable and seldom need repairs The flint is very easy to replace and you can get them at most any drugstore. the wick is a bit tougher to replace but lasts a lot longer than the flint and will give a couple of years of service under most normal use.

I tried an "experiment", just because I was curious. I bought 2 packs of American Spirit Organic cigarettes, just because their $10 coupons meant that they were, essentially, for free. I never smoked before but, figured, I'd do the 2 packs, free, and my curiosity would be filled.

After one pack I noticed that I felt a strange feeling in my body and mind. It felt like a hunger but without the stomach pangs. I realized that this was a sign of addiction but I had 1 more pack to go and then, I said to myself, I'll be done.

By the end of the 2nd pack, that feeling was more clear and intense. All I could think about was how one more cigarette would probably assuage it. So I bought another pack, thinking that I'd just have a few and be done. Needless to say, after I threw it out, I ended up retrieving it, rationalizing that when I finish, I didn't care how I felt, I'd stop. After all, 3 packs in a lifetime can't do anything to me.

Now, here I am, 6 months later, and smoking about 1 pack each day. The feeling when I stop is unbearable and now my curiosity is surely filled, and I'm a smoker that needs to figure out how to stop, just like all the other smokers who probably won't stop until I have no choice, if I'm lucky.

I can't give you a definite yes or no answer all I can tell you is I am a 24 year old smoker who just got released for the hospital for seizures that they cannot tell me why I am getting them. They released me after two days still seizing. I have noticed my seizing decreases when I do not smoke and increases when I do. I am ammusiinmint that is because smolking dcreases the amout of oxygen your blood carries throughought your body including your brain. One casuse of a seizure is lack of oxygen to then brain.....
