I dont believe there is a different between mainland greek and cypriot greek on this one.
"se agapo" (long form) "sagapo" (short form)
even if there is another phrase in the cypriot dialect, they will know what this means. Cypriot Greek speakers can understand and speak mainland greek pretty much fluently.
We can understand Greek very well-its our language, the Greeks are the ones who have problems understanding us- but anyway if you want to tell it in Cypriot you'll say 'agapose'
Cyprus is an island in the large part of the Mediterraneum, whereas Venice is part of Italy at the top part where yes it is built in a lagoon, but still has a mainland part, where the airport and train station are. They are not close at all.
Cyprus is southeast of Venice.

The most famous Queen of Cyprus was Caterina Cornaro, last Venetian ruler of Cyprus. She ruled from 1474 to 1489. The remains of her palace can be seen at Potamia between the cities of Nicosia and Larnaca. Her legacy lives on in Larnaca and Venice being declared twin towns in 2010, and in the Cornaro Institute, an arts centre also based in Larnaca.
The last Queen of Cyprus was, of course, the British monarch Queen Elizabeth II, but she ceased to be the Queen of Cyprus in 1960 when the island gained independence from Britain.
There is a supposition that this question makes explicitly, that the Greeks own Cyprus, and one made implicitly, that the people of any given territory should be more similar to its closest neighbors. Neither assumption is correct.
Greek Cypriots are so called because they embraced the Greek Orthodox Faith and had extensive oceanic commerce with the Greeks during the Ancient Period. It is notable, though, the Cypriot culture is not traditionally considered Danaan (central Ancient Greece) or Achaen (southern Ancient Greece), but is usually seen as being much more similar to Levantine and Mesopotamian culture. As a result, Greek Cypriot, as a term is an abbreviation of Greek Orthodox Cypriot. These people formed the majority of the island's inhabitants because of the way that Orthodox Christianity spread and the way Islam did not on the island. Greek Cypriots maintain political control of the Republic of Cyprus (which is an ally of but not controlled by Greece) because they form the majority of the population (between 75-80% of ethnic Cypriots are Greek Cypriots).
As to the second assumption that countries next to each other should be culturally similar, see Burma and Thailand, Pakistan and Iran, Iran and Iraq, Sudan and South Sudan, etc. Close proximity between countries can indicate similarities, but does not require them.
