Drywall
Drywall has several common names, such as gypsum board and sheetrock. It is mainly used in the construction of walls, but also has other uses. A plaster is made of gypsum, poured flat and smooth, and then wrapped in paper. The pieces are joined with strips of paper, and cemented down with a compound known as "mud." After the mud is dry, it is sanded and the wall is finished with paint, texture, wallpaper, or a variety of other creative means.

How to clean up drywall from hardwood flooring?
Sweep up the bulk of it and shop-vac the remaining dust. I can't think of anything easier.
What is the lineal footage price for commercial drywall construction?
Nobody I know prices it that way . I always call 2-3 Drywallers and at least 2 Tapers, and get estimates. Saves a lot of discussion later. Then I always expect them to ask for about 10 % more . Sometimes worth it, sometimes not.

If by top layer you mean the paper, then re-install drywall on that wall.

If you are looking for a stud, you could tap (hollow sound means no stud), check for nails in windows or trim (usually nailed to a stud), or use a stud finder.
How much does it cost to have someone put down drywall all together?
in southern Tennessee the average cost is 6 dollars per board to hang the sheetrock(4 x 12 sheets) and 12 dollars per board to finish it. This is for the number of boards purchased, One quick note, when hanging sheetrock most people will not piece sheetrock they will only use full sheets, this seem like alot of waste but it results in a look that is smooth and neat. Can it be too cold to do drywall work?
It may be too cold to mud it properly, but I've never heard of it being too cold to put up sheets.
Can Behr Premium Plus Ultra be used on new drywall?
Yes it can. (but it's kind of expensive to use as primer ! )
Do you ever get drywall dust out of everything you own?
Yes! It can be done. After a total remodel on my last house, I was right there with you. I thought we would NEVER get rid of all the dust. Some things I learned are that you have to have a vacuum with HEPA filters so it doesn't just fly back into the air, and to use moist sponges or clothes when you wipe it up. It takes a little while, but just stay on it. You will finally get rid of it all.
You are supposed to fur it out first. - That means a thin wood frame, usually 1x4 on the concrete FIRST. - It is not customary to apply drywall directly to a concrete basement wall.
Can you repair a hole in a wall or do you need a pro to replace the drywall panel?
If you have any repair skills at all you should be able to do it. Anything up to 6-8 inches, you can patch with a piece of drywall and some mud. Bigger than that, you should have something behind the drywall to screw to.
Small hole. Clean up the hole by cutting it back to solid drywall. Doesn't have to be square or perfect. Take a piece of drywall 2 inches bigger than the hole and on the back side, score the paper 1 inch in all the way around. Just through the paper. Snap the drywall and peal it off of the front paper, leaving the front paper intact. Butter the flap of paper all the way around. Place the patch in the hole and work out the mud with a wide putty knife. Much the same way as smoothing wall paper. Top coat the entire patch with joint compound (mud), let it dry and lightly sand. Two coats will probably be needed. If you are inexperienced with sanding, you can "sand" the mud with a damp sponge. Rinsing often.
Big hole. Either cut back to the center of the studs on either side, or cut out the hole and use 2-3 inch wide strips of plywood behind the drywall to screw to. Screw the plywood to the existing wall first and then set the patch in place and screw it. Use joint tape on the joint and finish with mud. You will need to feather out the mud 6-8 inches past the joint.

Patching the hole is easy. Making the repair invisible takes some artistry, but it's actually fun to see how well you can match the surrounding finish. The best method actually starts with enlarging the hole! You saw out a nice rectangular opening around the damaged area, then cut a new piece of drywall to match the dimensions of the opening. Usually bad taping. (or none ). Sometimes ,extreme heat in the room, but it would have to be over 95 -100 f all the time.
Screw anchors are used when a thin screw won't get sufficient support from the surface it's screwed into. - Drywall, for instance will not generally support thin load bearing screws, so this is a typical case where you would use screw anchors.
Can you use a rawl plug in drywall?
Yes, that's the exact purpose they were made for. -If you want an even better anchor, use E-Z Ancor, available in Home Depot.
