What training do you need to be a university lecturer in the US?
You need to be successful in the job application. If you are the right person its as simple as that! However having a degree and a higher degree (preferably a doctorate) will certainly help.
Answer: Most university lecturers have a doctorate or a broadly equivalent "terminal degree", and many these days will also hold a teaching certificate for higher education: usually obtained whilst working as a graduate teaching assistant or junior lecturer.
There are, however, no hard & fast rules, & it's not uncommon for someone who has no doctorate but significant publications/ achievements to his/ her name to be awarded a permanent post. Prominent examples in the arts/ humanities include the historian Simon Schama (although he has now moved to the USA), & the poet & critic Tom Paulin (Fellow of Hertford College, Oxford); in science/ technology a good example is Tim Berners-Lee.
Formally, the minimum requirement to lecture, for example, at Oxford Univ is the MLitt (or a research based MSc), but in practice this is waived regularly. Generally, in British universities "real world" experience and/ or significant publication will always trump formal qualifications, especially in more "vocational" fields - eg computing, engineering, journalism/ media, performing arts, law, business etc..
That stated, if you're aiming for an academic career from the start, then these days it's probably wise to think in terms of first degree with high honours (preferably a First), followed by a Master's & a Doctorate, plus as much teaching experience as you can get as a graduate teaching assistant, demonstrator, or remedial tutor to undergrads..
Additionally, many newly minted PhDs (especially in arts/ humanities) do the PGCE (school teaching certificate) & spend a few years teaching in Secondary Schools/ 6th Form Colleges (whilst continuing to research/ publish in their spare time/ during the long holidays) before applying for university posts: many universities like this "profile" because it greatly enhances institutional understanding of where prospective students are coming from, & helps to forge/ maintain links with schools.
It is important to include the skills and abilities that the person has which will pertain to the job they are applying for when answering this. Also describing what their work ethic is would be helpful.
What is a teachers responsibility?
Teachers owe their students a good level of understanding of how the world works. They must also bring out the best in their students and teach them to learn how to stand up for themselves and be who they want to be. Every child must stand up for what they believe in, and they must also control their own thoughts.
What does a teacher need in experience to be a teacher?
These days, with the need for teachers especially male teachers increasing, you still MUST have a teaching license or be eligible for an alternative teaching license. Alternative methods are more commonplace in "high-need" subjects such as math and/or science and are more progressive in metro areas. The days of an undergraduate degree not used, "Well, at least you can teach...", are long gone. If you plan to teach primary or special education, you have to go to college SPECIFICALLY for that purpose. In my case, I was hired for a contract or interim position teaching French in Memphis, TN. Because I speak and study Spanish, I was offered the job. That scenario is unheard of, so do not expect those cases often if ever. "No Child Left Behind" is a government mandate that requires teachers to have completed an arduous and expensive certification process with formal education study, standardized tests like the Praxis series, and a content specialization. In the old days, anyone with a college degree could teach, not so anymore. For those considering teaching, get started NOW. The process is long and you must play the tenuous "ball game" required by the Feds. Here is some advice for would-be teachers. If you are in it for the money, it takes higher degrees and YEARS of experience within the same state for lucrative future salaries. If you plan on moving around the country, you will lose "step" bonuses which are automatic, annual raises to compete with inflation and time served. If you an adult like me changing or adding career leverage, patience and proactivity are essential. Get accepted into the right, ACCREDITED school. DO NOT spend a fortune! A degree for teaching purposes are of equal weight. Find inexpensive colleges or, better yet, get someone else to pay for it. In my case, Memphis City Schools have frozen tuition and Praxis testing reimbursements for the 08-09 school year. So, I am out-of-pocket for my Spanish and TEP (Teacher Education Program) until the district retracts the freeze...God willing. Finally, I will say this. Teaching is one of the most admirable professions. In time, teachers will make more money. However, given the economic pitfalls more common with this country's inability to properly govern capitalism, we will never be the highly paid demi-gods of other industries. Remember, public education does not make money for anyone initially, and neither will we as professors of it.
An ESL teacher is a teacher who teaches English as a secondary language.
Some believe it is because they have no other option. In fact, there is a joke that has been around for years that says, "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach." Actually, teachers teach for a variety of reasons, but most reasons have to do with the enjoyment of imparting knowledge and liking kids.
What are the skills of a global teacher?
A globally aware teacher is well-informed on different cultures, world events, and history. It is a good idea to keep up with current events by reading well-regarded newspapers, for example, The New York Times or The Wall Street Journal. Listen to the radio and watch TV programming that is informative about a range of topics. Make use of online resources to learn interesting facts and stories that convey teachable moments about living in an interconnected world. Teachers can use social media to introduce their students to new languages and even reach out to students in other countries.
Why should students not sit with their friends?
It's not always bad, but unfortunately with the majority of students, students tend to distract each other with jokes or talk rather than paying attention and trying to learn. Occasionally, students can stand up to the peer pressure, or their friends are also studious, but that isn't usually the way it works, so one solution that teachers often use is to establish seating charts and choosing to keep the trouble-making groups apart, and hopefully away from each other.
Can a teacher be called global teacher without teaching abroad?
Yes.
One way of doing that is here on answers.com. The people who ask questions live in many parts of the world.
Another way of doing it would be to create videos for YouTube.com. Many people visit that site to learn new things.
University teachers are also offering courses free-of-charge on coursera.com in many subject areas. Again, people from across the world take advantage of these courses.

Earnings for teachers are not set on a nationwide basis. It depends on your district. In my area, it varies for first year teachers from 27,900 a year to 36,000 a year (both are in addition to benefits). As you gain more experience, you move up the salary scale. Another way to move up the scale is to continue your education. Your post graduate hours count to help you receive better pay.

Should a teacher give students awards?
While it is a wonderful gesture of thanks, there is some debate as to whether or not it is appropriate to give a gift to one's teacher at the end of the school year. The state of Alabama has said teachers can accept gifts valued at $25 or less. As to whether or not one should or should not, one should let their conscience be their guide.
Good classroom control, a good personality, organsation (you dont want to lose everyone's papers), honesty, trust, value, care, and much much more What it takes to be a good teacher is not easy.
