What do flatworms have that sponges and cnidarians dont?
Flatowrms have muscle cells, they are a triploblastic phylum. They have endo, meso and ectoderm layers
Sponges are Parazoa and lack any true tissue at all
Cnidaria are diploblastic, having only endoderm and ectoderm
What type of circulatory system does a tapeworm have?
segmented worms have a closed circulatory system.in a closed circulatory system,
blood moves only within a connected network of tubes called blood vessels.
What is the difference between flatworms and segmented worms?
(it would be false to say that all flatworms are parasitic--the idiot that wrote that wasn't so smart, so I had to change that-- because the PLANARIAN-for example, is flatworm and that is a harmless little critter)
~round worms are ROUND
~flat worms are FLAT
~Round worms have 2 body openings (mouth & anus)
*random fact: 1/2 of all roundworms are PARASITIC, and 50 species affect humans**
What are flatworms special characteristics?
# Flatworms can glide over surfaces, or the underside of a surface film of water, using small body hairs for movement. # The stomach is like a sack. The food goes into the sack through the mouth. Once the food is taken into the body, the rest is thrown back out of the mouth. (They have no anus). # They reproduce sexually (having both male and female organs) and asexually by splitting. Each piece that is split off becomes a separate worm. # They also reproduce by regeneration. They do this by producing a new worm from a broken piece.
yes! they have both male and female functions for reproduction
No. Arthropod literally means jointed leg, and worms don´t even have legs ;) Arthropods are animals like insects, spiders and crustaceans. Tape worms are flatworms or Platyhelminthes.
What do 12-13 year old girls find hot on boys?
Well, they want someone who is polite and will respect them, their friends, and their family. They want you to look presentable. You don't have to be Taylor Laughtner hott, but look clean and nice like a gentlemen. Don't use catchphrases! Pick the girl up by being charming and sweet. Don't act like someone you aren't. Fall for someone who will like you for you, even if she isn't 13. I really enjoyed answering your question! Best of luck!
How are round worms and segmented worms different?
As opposed to earthworms, arthropods (crayfish) segments often become fused. Therefore, certain parts of a crayfish that looks like one piece, was once multiple pieces before they became fused together, so some segments were actually once more than just that one segment. An earthworm on the other hand, is just as many segments as are seen, and always has been.
Why is the new Zealand flatworm such a threat to earthworms?
The New Zealand flatworms are voracious carnivores. Lacking a coelom, these worms absorb the nutrient from their prey by dissolving it in mucus which they then absorb. Ordinary annelid (round) earthworms seem to not have a defence against this behaviour, and they have been introduced accidentally into Europe, no doubt as eggs along with minor traces of soil on agricultural produce.
Since the round worms and flat worms co-exist reasonably successfully in NZ, there is no reason to believe other than this 'happy' condition will eventually prevail in Europe.
Is the American Dream then and the American Dream now the same?
Yes. The term "American dream" is used in many ways, but it essentially is an idea that suggests that anyone in the US can succeed through hard work and has the potential to lead a happy, successful life. This idea hasn't changes throughout time therefore has stayed the same now and then. :)
Which type of symmetry do flatworms exhibit?
Flatworms exhibit bilateral symmetry, which means that their body can be divided into two symmetrical halves along a single plane. This type of symmetry allows for the development of more complex body structures and directional movement.
Is it true that flukes and tapeworms are best described as detritus feeders?
Trinchinosis is usually caused by eating flukes in raw fish
