  1. Guru Amardas ji thought of building a town on this place. For someone, they bought land from the zamindars of Thung village and the responsibility of establishing a town was placed on Guru Ram Das, Guru Ram Das was not on the throne at that time. 1 tank was dug at this place by Guru Ramdas ji, the named of that holy tank kept from name of Guru Amar Das ji, the name of that holy tank is Amrit Sarovar and the people of 52 regions were gathered and a town was built around the lake, which was named Ramdas Pura.
  2. When Guru Ramdas started digging the lake, the lake was raw. After lighting his candle, Guru Arjan Dev ji came to take care of this service. He fixed the tank on which Guru Amardas ji used to sing hymns and Guru Ramdas ji used to give sermons to the congregation, at that place Arjan Dev ji built the building of Shri Harminder Sahib! Harminder Sahib means Temple of Hari, House of God. The entire map of the building of Harminder Sahib was prepared by Guru Arjan Dev ji with his own hands and its service was handed over to Baba Budha ji and its foundation was laid by Muslim fakir Sai Mian Mir ji. The four doors of Harminder Sahib mean that people of any caste and religion can come to the Gurudwara without any discrimination!! One way to go means that there is only one way to reach God. This bridge from Darshini Deori to Sachkhand has been built with the flour of Mah di dal, which was ground with a hand-operated mill at that time. Inside this bridge, there are small rooms, inside of which the Guru Granth Sahib is lit, and the Bhog of Shri Akhand Path Sahib is found. The height of Shri Harmandar Sahib Ji was kept lower than the height of the city. When Baba Budha Sahib Ji asked about this, Guru Sahib said that God is found only by those who live lowly. The Harmandir Sahib became a central hub for Sikh religious and cultural activities, welcoming people from all walks of life.

Kanda Sikh symbol explain what it stands for?

The Khanda is the Sikh emblem. The Khanda consists of three objects: A Solid Circle Two Interlocked Swords One Double-edged Sword in the Centre The two-edged sword (which itself is known by the name Khanda), circled by the solid circle known as a Chakra. The right edge of the Khanda symbolises freedom and authority governed by moral and spiritual values. The left edge of the double-edged sword symbolises divine justice which chastises and punishes wicked oppressors. The two-edged sword at the centre of the Khanda also symbolises disintegration of false pride and vanity and demolition of the barriers of caste and other inequalities. The AMRIT which is used at the time of BAPTISM is stirred with the Khanda. The original Khanda with which Guru GOBIND SINGH stirred the baptismal waters on March 30, A.D. 1699 is now preserved at Anandpur. The Chakra being a circle without a beginning or an end exhorts the Sikhs to make the whole creation as the object of their compassion and activities. It signifies the symbol of Ek Om Kar, the Oneness of God, who is without beginning or end. The circle signifies oneness, unity, justice, humanity and morality. The Chakra was also used as a weapon against injustice and oppression. The two Kirpans (swords) flanking the Chakra represent the two swords of Guru HARGOBIND signifying the spiritual and temporal leadership of Gurus. Apart from giving it symmetry, the two Kirpans impart a conceptual balance to the Khandalike the Yin and Yang of ancient Chinese philosophy. The left side signifies the sword of spiritual sovereignty or Piri. The right sword signifies the sword of political sovereignty, Miri.
