A surfer is actually traveling on which part of a surface wave?
For an experience surfer they generally ride along the curving/bowling face of the wave (known as the wall) from which they can perform numerous manoeuvres, while occasionally riding the bottom of the wave to pass a unmake-able section in the tube and even onto of the lip of the wave performing a 'floater'.
For beginner surfers they usually ride the 'white-wash' (the broken wave) where it is easy to catch and normally longer that a unbroken wave breaking.

This all depends upon your age and maturity. Some men mature faster than others, so the size selection will always be an "individual" preference based on comfort and ease of use. Maybe start out with a medium size and go from there. *** Or you could just check your waist size and look at the size chart on the box. That will tell you which size to get. After all, the only difference in jockstrap sizes is the waistband. They are not like bras, where they come in different cup sizes. The pouch is exactly the same size on all adult straps (of the same brand) whether they are small, medium, large, or whatever. The only time there are differnent size pouches is between adult and child sizes. And there are some companies that have come out with teen sizes that are between the child and adult sizes. But the pouches within each of those groups is ALWAYS the same regardless of the waist size. If you compare jockstraps from different companies you might see a difference in their pouches, but i don't know how much of a difference that would be.

This way when they grew up they would be able to successfully navigate the shoreline without their boats tipping over, having them lose their precious cargo. A surfboard can be heavy or light depending on the amount of fibreglass and resin on the surfboard. A 6 ounce fibreglass board is heavy, a 4 ounce is light. I have a 4 ounce on the deck and a 6 on the bottom to give it strength, but not make it too heavy.
