Yes. In the southeast, the highest peaks of the Great Dividing Range make up the region referred to as the Australian Alps. Why does the Himalayas receive more snow fall than the alps?

The Himalayas receive more snowfall than the Alps primarily due to their higher elevation and greater atmospheric moisture. The Himalayas are home to some of the tallest peaks in the world, which allows them to capture more moisture-laden air from the Indian monsoon. Additionally, the geographical position of the Himalayas exposes them to more intense weather systems, resulting in increased precipitation. In contrast, the Alps, while also mountainous, are lower in elevation and experience less moisture from the surrounding climate.

What is is Europe's largest mountain range?

I presume you mean the tallest mountain. That depends on where you draw the line between Europe and Asia, which isn't easy. Traditionally it is held to be Mont Blanc in Switzerland, at 15,781 ft. However, Mount Elbrus in the Caucasus mountains is 18,510 ft.

What is the name of the highest mountain in Europe?

Are the rockies bigger than the alps?

yes the rockies are higher on average. The rockies have 53 peaks that rise over 14,000ft above sea level and over 700 peaks that rise over 13,000ft.

EDIT: Maybe on average, as the Rockies are a wider and much longer mountain range. But the highest point in the Rockies is Mount Elbert at 14,440 ft (4,401 m) whereas Mont Blanc in the Alps is higher 4,808 metres (15,774 ft). The Alps also have 128 peaks over 4,000 metres (13,123 ft).

EDIT: I've been in both and felt there was no comparison. When you're looking at any mountain, you're looking at its vertical exposure. The Rockies rest on a massive plateau that is already often nearly a mile high. Even western Kansas is 4500 feet high. So, if you look at say Pikes Peak, a mountain that's about 14, 500 feet, you may be standing on a flat prairie to the east that is already 5000' high. So, the mountain you see is actually 9500' high. In the Alps rise out of elevations sometimes only about 1500 feet, to a height of say 14,500 so you are looking at a vertical exposure of 13,000. Much bigger than a typical Rockie. Also, the Rockies are much much older, and worn down. The Alps being newer by millions of years are more dramatic. We have few mountains in the Rockies like the Matterhorn.
