Do Amish and Quakers dress alike?
Rarely. Plain dress is uncommon among Quakers these days. It mostly went out over 100 years ago. Of the few Quakers who dress plainly, some may buy some of their patterns, clothing, bonnets, hats, and coverings from Amish merchants, but they might equally buy them from Mennonite, Brethren, or other Quaker merchants. Or they might just make it themselves.
Why don't the Amish drive cars?
They believe in taking their natural time, not letting machines quicken the pace of their life's existence. A vehicle is a conveyance that hastens the pace of their life.
It is just to easy to jump in an automobile, go here and there at a whim, distracting them.
It is better, in their view, to be forced by circumstance ,and the use of horse and buggy, to travel only when necessary.
They do travel in cars and buses, but it requires hiring a driver or traveling to the bus station. These choices also limit travel.
They are very community oriented (Amish community). Not allowing them to own or operate motorized transportation is an effort to keep the community together. In this area (Lancaster, PA) they can't ride a bicycle either.
Are the Amana communities Amish?
No, the Amana colonies are not Amish. Outside of being protestant and originating in and around Germany they have almost nothing in common. The Amanites are a 18th century pietist sect of the Lutheran Church which settled first in Pennsylvania and later in Iowa in the 1800s. They formed a communistic society in Iowa which survived until the 1930s when it was disbanded largely for financial reasons.
The Amish and Mennonites descend from 16th century Anabaptists and are theologically and socially distinct from the Amana colonies.

Or am I wrong, there is a different answer? : /
What do Amish do with their garbage?
What is the difference between Amish and ameninites?
The Amish and Mennonites have very few difference. Mennonites will however have electricity, running water, and running cars where Amish will not.
What is a prediction of how and why specific facts are related?
In general, you're describing a conhecture.
If you conduct experimentation to validate your conjecture, and your explanation appears to be valid, it rises to the level of theory. Basically all scientific "truths" are theories. Nobody has proposed a new scienrific law in wellover a century, and all "laws" of science are known to be wrong.
Science rarely advances by "scientific revolution". Instead, we recognize that existing science science is an approximation which may be useful under certain conditions, and science advances by "stepwise refinement" - that is, by making our predictions of behavior more closely approach reality.
One of the moreserious challenges to "climate change" is that the mathematical mideks which supposedly prive global warming are unable to predict the future, and if you use historical data, one cannot even preduct the pasr. It's probably a dumb move to breathe an atmosphere containing huge amounts of carbon dioxide; there are no long-term, or even medium-term stidies showing what that will do to mankind. That's a reason why so many scientists are not objecting to the global warming theorists, rather than trying to explain that no science is cut-and-dry proven.
