There are nine choirs of angels divided into three hierachies seraphims cherubims and thrones which hierachy are archangels in?

In the Bible, 'archangel' is mentioned in two places:

  1. Jude 9: "... Michael the archangel, ..."
  2. 1 Thessalonians 4:16: "the voice of the archangel", "the archangel's voice" (KJV, RSV, NEB, ASV, NIV, TLB, TJB, GNB. MNT)

Michael is the chief (arch) angel: "Michael and his angels fought against the dragon (the Devil and Satan)..." Revelation 12:7-9 KJV

Elsewhere the Bible speaks of the cherubim (cherubs), the seraphim (seraphs), and of unclassified angels (Hebrew malakhim; Greek ag′gelos) e.g. Gen 3:24, Genesis 16:7, Isaiah 6:2.

So there appears to be one chief angel, i.e. 'the archangel', plus seraphim, plus cherubim, plus other angels.

There are innumerable angelic entities. (Daniel 7:9; Hebrews 12:22) They are are often organised into special groups and are given special duties (e.g. Matthew 26:53; Psalm 91:11).

Seven are seen standing before God and blowing trumpets (Rev 8:2), another offers incense (Rev 8:3), another flys though mid-heaven with a declaration (Rev 8:13), another four angels have a special task (Rev 9:15).

Angels also have many other duties.

They also sing praises to God (Job 38:7; Luke 2:13-15)

Who are the 9 fallen angels?

There were more than that. When Satan was thrown from the mountain of God, a third part of the angels in heaven went with him.

You were the signet of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; fevery precious stone was your covering, sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, emerald, and carbuncle; and crafted in gold were your settings and your engravings. On the day that you were created they were prepared. You were an anointed guardian cherub. Placed you; you were on the holy mountain of God; in the midst of the stones of fire you walked. You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created, till unrighteousness was found in you. In the abundance of your trade you were filled with violence in your midst, and you sinned; so I cast you as a profane thing from the mountain of God, and I destroyed you, O guardian cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. Your heart was proud because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. I cast you to the ground; I exposed you before kings, to feast their eyes on you. By the multitude of your iniquities, in the unrighteousness of your trade you profaned your sanctuaries; so I brought fire out from your midst; it consumed you, and I turned you to ashes on the earth in the sight of all who saw you. All who know you among the peoples are appalled at you; you have come to a dreadful end and shall be no more forever."

Ezekiel 28:11-19

When did Jehovah's Witness teaching on archangel Michael change from regarding him as the anti Christ to being the Christ?

Never. Michael has always been regarded as a powerful angel. Michael "meaning like God" was the angel that delivered the Jews out of bondage. Michael is also the angel that helped the angel Gabriel from the book of Daniel when he couldn't assist Daniel. Also, Michael is the angel that threw Satan out of heaven.

The anti Christ is regarded as a group of people rather than an individual, since the scriptures state that "many Antichrist have been on the earth". The anti Christ is physical being, Michael is a spiritual being, therefore no reasonable person would conclude that Michael and the Anti christ is one and the same.

Whoever told you that or where ever you read that didn't put two and two together. One is spiritual, the other is demonic. One is a spirit creature, the other is a physical creature.

AnswerANSWER FROM A JEHOVAH'S WITNESS

As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, I have a special interest in this question. JW's have never claimed infalibilty as some religions do. We recognize that from time to time there needs to be adjustments in our understanding of certain scriptural matters. The Bible says at Proverbs 4:18 that the "path of the righteous ones is like the bright light that is getting lighter and lighter."

However, on this matter, I have researched back as far as I can go, that is 1951, and I can find no reference in our publications of the identity of Michael being anyone other than the glorified Jesus Christ in his heavenly role.

I suspect that there has been some misunderstanding on the part whoever made this assertion. It may simply be an honest mistake by the reader, who may not have understood what was being said by the publication in question. Or it could be a false rumor about our beliefs. But I can find nothing to support the idea that we ever believed that Michael is the anti-christ.

Do angels reincarnate?

It would appear that angels can assume human form when necessary. They even ate food which Abraham prepared for them. This is not the same as reincarnation as we know it for it would appear that being able to assume human bodily form is an intrinsic part of angelic nature.

Who created angels archangels and Lucifer and how was he given this name?

A:In the three major Abrahamic religions, angels, archangels and Satan were created by God. In Christianity and Islam, Satan is evil and is also called Lucifer, but Satan is the loyal assistant of God in Judaism, where he is tasked with testing the righteousness of the faithful and is never called Lucifer.

The Old Testament never mentions angels, as we now know them, in anything written before the Babylonian Exile. Similarly, the earliest mention of Satan is in the Book of Chronicles, written after the time of the Babylonian Exile. So they first appeared in Judaism at the time of the Exile, or shortly afterwards. We know that the Persians, benefactors of the Jews, believed in spirits very similar to angels, archangels and Satan, in their own Zoroastrian faith. Arguably, the founder of Zoroastrianism could be the real originator of angels, archangels and Satan.

Satan was given the name Lucifer in the Christian religion, because of a misreading of Isaiah chapter 14, but this refers to the king of Babylon, who laid the nations low. It talks of his pomp and splendour, how he had ruled the nations in anger, and his fate after his overthrow by the king of Persia. He had compared himself to the Morning Star (and was thus derisorily called 'Lucifer' - lucem ferre, which mean "light-bearer", a name for the dawn appearance of the planet Venus) and had thought that he would ascend into heaven and sit among the stars, but was now himself persecuted. Christian scholars misunderstood this text and assumed that it referred to Satan or the devil.
