Why anorexia affect circulatory system?
In order to work properly, the heart requires adequate amounts of potassium, sodium, calcium, magnesium and other electrolytes in a certain balance. If these components are not present in the required amounts the electrical activity of the heart is interrupted. This is what happened to the 70's singer, Karen Carpenter. She had anorexia and did not take in enough food to supply her heart with what it needed and she died from a cardiac arrest. Her heart just stopped beating because it had no more fuel on which to run. Anorexia also destroys the other organs in the body and the muscles as well because the body thinks it is being starved to death, which it actually is, and begins to feed off of itself. Other people have gone into kidney failure and required dialysis for what time they lived after that; some people have messed up their intestines to the point where they will never work the same again. Anorexia is very dangerous. It is a compulsion and requires professional intervention. If you are the anorexic, please get help for yourself! You are worth so much more than just starving yourself to death for what you think is an attractive body image.
What would be a typical meal plan for someone who has anorexia?
There is no general rule to how much a suffering anorexic would eat. Each individual sets their own goals and targets when it comes to Calories and Weight. Most anorexics restrict calories to anything from 0 to 800 calories a day, and will have Fasting periods where they eat nothing at all. Anorexics usually have lists of 'safe' foods and food they can not have at all, again, what goes on these lists depends on each individual, although if you compared list, you will probably find they go on the same general basis.

What is a common characteristic of both bulimics and anorexics?
Both anorexics and bulimics are cautious about how much they eat around other people and what kinds of foods they ingest. They do not like to eat around other people (secrecy is the name of the game). They both starve themselves for long periods of time (bulimics just make up for it by stuffing it all down later). They might appear bloated, but that is mostly bulimics due to water retention so I suppose it depends on how much the anorexic is vomiting.
How much weight can you lose by starving yourself for two weeks?
Every person is different, but I can tell you that starving yourself will not help you lose weight. Your body will actually start to hold onto weight after about 3 days of starving yourself and anything with fat that you put into your body will go straight for the fat reserves. Your body will think it is headed for hard times and that it will need all the fat it can take. So you would hurting your body more than anything, probably even gaining weight once you do decide to eat. Also, you could cause yourself a heart or brain problems from starving yourself. That is what happened to Terri Schiavo, her extreme dieting methods caused her brain damage. Be smart about weight loss, the simple method that works is to cut your calorie intake and start exercising. There is no easy way around it and especially if you want to lose weight and keep it off.
What system or systems is not affected by anorexia nervosa?
Anorexia nervosa can produce a serious strain on many organs., particularly on the structure and function of the heart and cardiovascular system. In early stages there occurs bradycardia (slow heart rate) and elongation of the QT interval. People with anorexia typically have a disturbed electrolyte balance, particularly low levels of phosphate. Phosphate is linked to heart failure, muscle weakness, immune dysfunction, and ultimately death. If anorexia develop before adulthood they may suffer with stunted growth and subsequent low levels of essential hormones (including sex hormones) and chronically increased cortisol levels. Anorexia also leads to osteoporosis (38-50% of cases), because poor nutrition leads to the retarded growth of essential bone structure and low bone mineral density. Anorexia does not harm everyone in the same way. For example, evidence suggests that the results of the disease in adolescents may differ from those in adults.

Of course.
Your body stores fat because it does not need it, when you get hungry your body uses the fat cells to power it.
Also if you're considering going anorexic please don't, all the guys I know barf at the fact that someone could get so skinny.
Once your body has eaten all your fat it starts to eat your muscles leaving you week and vulnerable.Eventually your body will have eaten all it can from your muscles then next go to your heart which at this stage if you do not start to put on weight will event in death.

No. Most anorexics, in fact, are either normal weight or underweight.
What weight if your anorexic do you lose your period?
Yes, being anorexic will delay your period. Menstruation only occurs when you ovulate, and you will only ovualte regularly when you are healthy. Starving your body will cause stress and ill-health which can result in your body delaying or stopping ovulation so there's no risk of you becoming pregnant at a time when your body isn't well enough to cope.
