Tylemol 3 has codiene in it.I took two an hour ago,and I took a methocarbamol at dinner,so I guess if I am still alive in the morning,its ok....No,seriously,....Tylenol 3 and meth are not going to kill you,but tramadol and meth do not go together.I would rather had the doctor perscribe something that would actually take the pain away(oxycodone or hydrocodone) but the federal protect-me-from myself anti drug crusaders have these poor docs under a microscope,so,here we are in America,21st century----draconian pain management--thanks,Uncle Sam!Education should be a priority,not preventing pain medicine unless someone is dying,oh well,a few people (Rush Limbo) got hooked on the stuff,so now we all get tylenol....enjoy your pain!

It says on drug-world.com and other various drug sites that it can make you test positive for THC. THC levels will decrease with time so testing positive for the amount ibuprofen would make you test for and the amount smoking pot two weeks ago will, etc.

Promethazine is an antihistimine and anti-emetic. Ibuprofin is a painkiller. There should be no problem using them both together in the proper dosages.

Well, I just did. I'll let you know if I survive. (Not a joke). In all likelihood, low doses of both should be okay. Ibuprofen is a pain reliever and reduces inflammation. Pain relieves are not good to take with benzodiazepams because the benzo is going to suppress nervous system activity while the pain reliever will intensify the effect.

Too much of an NSAID like ibuprofen can cause reduced nervous system reaction as well. Combined with Ativan (lorazepam), too much can make you fall asleep and way too much may stop nervous system functions, like your heart...

Low doses of both though, (200 mg of ibuprofen with 1 mg of lorazepam) will be fine... however, you shouldn't really need to take both. Take a different pain med for pain, not an NSAID. Tylenol might be better, but I'm not a doctor. There are likely side effects or consequences for everything.

General rule of thumb - unless told by a doctor - don't mix medications too much, even over the counter ones with prescription meds.

There are no concerns with taking these two drugs together. The only reactions listed for this drug are with central nervous system depressants and MAOI's aspirin is not part of either of these groups.

You can safely swap Tylenol and ibuprophen every two hours minimal. doing it this way is the best way to keep pain,fever and immflamation down.

From my own experience there must be a difference in the coating. I can easily stomach 4 over the counter ibuprofin 3times daily (and have for 20 yrs.) which = the same as 1 800mg. prescription tablet 3times daily. I can not stomach the prescription at all. Taking 2 400mg. prescription ibuprofin also went down fine. but the prescription can cost much more than the walmart version-$8 or less for 500 tablets.

These two medications work on pain through different mechanisms so they can be taken together, but DO NOT take them until you have talked to your doctor and/or pharmacist. These drugs may have reactions to other medications you are on, diseases, and/or food and drink.

p.s. the 325 mg in percocet refers to the acetaminophen, but it also contains oxycodone (narcotic).
