IT matters what kind of spider you are refuring to but ussually yes
Does an ant have a complete metamorphosis?
Yes, they go through the four stages: Egg, Larvae, Pupa, and Adult
Fourmi. (like formic acid)
La fourmi (feminine noun, singular), les fourmis (plural)
yes it has an exoskeleton
Ants belong to a phylum called the arthropods. Arthropods have shells, which are classified as a type of external skeleton or exoskeleton. They do not have internal skeletons of the type that we vertebrates have.
Why do insects ant most animals lay many eggs at a time?
They are r-selected species, which means their reproductive strategy is to produce as many tiny offspring as possible and invest as little energy and care into them as they can. Because they are so tiny and have no parental care, almost all of them die before becoming adults, but that doesn't matter because there are so many of them. Their populations exist far below the carrying capacity of the environment, so they have adapted to be able to fill the environment with as many offspring as possible without worrying about running out of resources.
This is as opposed to a K-selected species like a human or bear, where only a few relatively large offspring are produced, and lots of energy and parental care are invested in them. These species exist in populations near the carrying capacity of the environment and therefore they cannot produce hundreds of offspring at a time without draining all the environment's resources and causing a population crash.
No they do not. Sounds make the ground vibrate. Ants can feel those vibrations through their feet.
No. they are harmless. However, it is a good idea to be careful of they're mouth because, like every other animal that has teeth, if they feel scared they will bite. The wound is not dangerous unless the animal is infected with some sort of disease. In that case, it is a good idea to get vaccinated. Otherwise, simply clean the bite with a cotton ball soaked in hydrogen peroxide (to kill any germs) and put a band aid over it.
Is there such thing as a ant with wings?
The Queen originally had wings but soon after mating, looses them and has her millions of lave. The lave turn into ants and become her workers. The workers purpose is to mate. Once mated the male dies and the female grows wings and soon becomes a queen. The process continue but most ants do not make it. Only the female has wings. Hope I helped :)
Ants are omnivores, meaning that they get there nutrients from both plant and animal sources. Different species will eat different things, but many ants will eat all manner of edible things, including scraps of food we leave behind.
Which spices attract ants the most?
I am pretty sure that is sweet scent because my little sister always leave candy on the table by the window and the ants always come the next day.
Early ants had only two teeth, but most modern ants have more - although some are nearly toothless. Larger workers of "nearly toothless" species may have slight hints of teeth but smaller workers have none. The teeth are made of the same tough stuff as an ant's exoskeleton. They look like, and are, extensions of the mandibles.
Some ants have many sharp teeth to penetrate and hold a soft-bodied, squirmy insect long enough to sting it. But such teeth break when the mandibles snap together on a tough foe like a termite soldier. Ants after hard-bodied prey have blunt teeth, and crush the insect with a blow like a sprung trap from their quick-closing jaws.
An African driver ant can bite with her sharp teeth hard enough to hurt a person badly. In fact, these fierce insects can swarm over a large mammal, and literally slice it to death.
All ants have six legs. Some people may say otherwise (8 legs). But if you look it up on the Internet, insect experts will say they have six. You can also catch one and look for yourself.
I believe it certain type can. Alot of beatels usually can. I know alot of this stuff I use to teach science for 8 years (yes sicne I was 19.)
Where desert can a velvet ants be found?
Most Mutillidae (velvet ants) live in the warmer parts of the planet, and mainly in fairly dry areas. Some of them live in nearly desert areas. They must live in places where they will find insects on which their young can feed and grow. These prey (or host) insects have their own habitats, so the Mutillidae must be adapted to where their particular hosts live, on which their larvae can feed. Most of the hosts are bees or wasps, while other kinds of velvet ants need caterpillars, beetles, cockroaches and a few other types of insects. Whatever the habitat of the host, the velvet ant must be able to live in the same habitat, usually sandy dry areas with suitable plant life.
Which monotreme feeds on ants?
Ants are eaten by many animals. Worms, spiders, anteaters and more. Even ants sometimes eat there own kind.
How many ants would it take to make a human?
The total weight of all the ants is equal to the total weight of all humans on the earth, which is about 1 and 1/2 million (1,500,000) ants for each human living on the Earth, says E.O Wilson, a famous entomologist. An entomologist is a scientist who studies insects.
Do white ants bites or stings?
Fire ants sting like wasps or bees. the rest of the normal ants do bite when aggravated. ants that live in the rain forest can get extremely large and can be deathly poisonous and there is a Mexican legend that a fire breathing ant will come to your home if you steal something from a poor person or a witch/warlock puts a curse on you
The behavior displayed by ants working to raise offspring would be classified as Eusociality. Eusociality in the insect world consists of many generations taking care of the young offspring.
