What are the adaptation of fire ants?
Fire ants are a very aggressive type of ant, which is not afraid of people and is known to bite them. They are called fire ants because they are red-brown in color and because their bites cause burning sensations.
They're are plenty of Army Ant species in North America. People rarely see them because they're mostly active during the night, hunting.
This is generally true for common house ants as well. They are active and forage at all times of the day. There haven't been any actual studies on this in particular but from what I've observed from common house ants, particularly the Lasius Flavus(I believe at least) hunt more during the night than during the day. I've studied them and I've come to the conclusion that fractions of the colony rest and hunt/forage in shifts. This is why you can go outside at anytime in the 24 hours of the day and see an ant scurrying around looking to sink its mandibles into something.
It makes more sense for them to have a larger fraction of the colony hunt at night as most ants don't like the sunlight. This is also why many try to start nesting under a stone or log or any object that blocks out the sun. I've also concluded that Lasius Flavus tend to be more ravenous at night and more aggressive when it comes to the hunt.
In a short study I threw an earthworm outside the perimeter of a nest during the daytime. Only a few attacked it, most passed it up for something else to do. I threw the earthworm onto the nesting area and due to the disturbance it made more ants came to attack it, during the attack it attempted to burrow into one of their tunnels; even more came out to defend against the Earthworm. Finally, during the nighttime I threw another earthworm outside the perimeter of their nest and every ant that happened upon it locked its jaws into its flesh. One or more of the attackers signaled there was live food where the worm was. In only a minute or two many, many ants came to devour the worm even though it was no threat to the nest or colony. They did this purely to kill the worm for feeding purposes and not defensive purposes.

Can garlic be used as an ant killer?
Yes, using cloves of garlic along with cinnamon is said to help get rid of ants by discouraging them from entering your home or dwelling. The ants do not like the garlic, so they will not enter when garlic is present.
Yes, some ants can kill small mammals like rats and mice, cats, dogs and in very rare cases, small human children.
Fire ants often attack small animals and can kill them. Unlike many other ants, which bite and then spray acid on the wound, fire ants only bite to get a grip and then sting (from the abdomen) and inject a toxic alkaloid venom (piperidine). For humans, this is a painful sting, a sensation similar to what one feels when burned by fire - hence the name fire ant - and the aftereffects of the sting can be deadly to sensitive individuals. When these pesky critters invade an area, they do it with a vengeance. There will be enormous numbers of them which can dramatically reduce populations of native ants, other insects, and even ground-nesting wildlife.

Why can't an ant by drowned by holding its head underwater?

What is the character of the story the ant and the grasshoppers?
The ant and the grasshopper were hopping along,
Little was disturbing them in their insect-like song,
But all of a sudden a big crash was heard,
The ant and the grasshopper leapt off with their herd.
They went back to their home and stories rang out,
The ant and the grasshopper and the noise it was about,
But little did the ant and the grasshopper know,
The disastrous adventure they were about to forgo.
Later that night they went back to the scene,
The grass and the dew was shiny and pristine,
But what was that lying down on the grass?
Their cousin Jeffery with a prolapsed-arse.
They began to crawl towards him, minds blinded with fear,
Seeing such a crevice in poor Jeffery's rear,
They took the chance and frolicked inside,
The ant in the grasshopper, in young Jeffery's behind.
With their feet, mostly. If they are moving from one "bivouac" (camp) to a new one, the workers carry the eggs and larvae (young ants, still grubs) in their jaws. They also carry the queen, some food, whatever they can carry. They are likely to attack and chop up any insects, spiders and the like that they catch while moving. When they have settled in a bivouac, such as in a hollow tree, they send out columns of workers and soldiers to find food, such as stray insects or termites, that they bring back to feed the young and the queen.
For that reason people generally are glad when army ants show up; all you have to do is leave the house promptly, taking pets and babies with you, and stay out till they leave after a night or a few days. When you come back your house will be pest-free.
Some kinds of Army ants also eat small animals like lizards and mice that they catch, and if they find even large animals, some African species will eat them too if they can't get away, like if they are in cages or tied up, or babies in cribs. There are many kinds of Army ants in South America and different kinds in Africa.
When they are on the march, if they have to cross rivers and so on, they actually make bridges of their own bodies, chains of workers over which their companions can climb. Male army ants of most species can fly from one colony to another to mate.

What do you do about black ant bites?
If you're not allergic, you should immediately wash the bitten area with soap and water and gently scrub it in a circular motion. Then put a mixture of baking soda and water on the bite to neutralize the venom. Apply ice, 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off, to keep the swelling down. An antihistamine will also help with the swelling and itching.
It depends on the species of frog. The Eastern Narrowmouth Toad (Gastrophryne carolinensis) mainly lives of ants. Most frogs and toads however rather avoid ants because of ther bite and/or sting.
