What do army ants eat in the rain forest?
That depends are you asking what they eat or what they are eaten by?
>If You are looking for their predator then it would be the Aardvark, Anteater, Moles, and Some birds.
>If you are wondering what THEY themselves eat then they eat pretty much any meaty animal unfortunate enough to slip into a large colony of them.
It is not an insect but an internal parasite. The tapeworm's eggs look like little grains of rice when passed in the feces of your dog or cat. There are medications out there to de-worm your pet with for tapeworms. You really should take a sample of your pet's feces into your Veterinarian and have it examined to see if there are more internal parasites in your pet, such as roundworms, hookworms or whipworms.
What are the similarities and differences between grasshoppers and ants?
That is like asking "What are the similarities and differences between tigers and bats?" You cannot possibly have thought out what it was that you wanted to know. Grasshoppers differ in thousands of ways from each other and in even more thousands of ways from ants. They are both insects, but they are in different orders, just as tigers and bats are both mammals, but in different orders. They have the same number of legs and more or less the same type of blood and jaws, but they differ in size, in the food they eat, in the way they grow from the egg to the adult. (Grasshoppers come out of the egg looking like grasshoppers and they change their skins as they grow larger. Ant larvae are like grubs and they change into pupae and then into adult ants when they change their skins.) They differ in what they eat and how they collect their food. Ants are truly social insects. Grasshoppers are not (not even locusts are truly social).
Try asking yourself how you would like such a question answered before you ask. If you do so, then you are more likely to get an answer that you would like to read, one that would be useful to you. For instance, it might fit into less than a book. Do you just want to know how to tell whether an insect is a grasshopper, or an ant? (Like trying to tell whether a mammal is a tiger or a bat?) If you got this question from a teacher, ask the teacher how s/he would tell what the difference is between a tiger and a bat. Then criticise the answer because for every difference s/he mentions, there will be a hundred differences that s/he missed.

What are the adaptation of fire ants?
Fire ants are a very aggressive type of ant, which is not afraid of people and is known to bite them. They are called fire ants because they are red-brown in color and because their bites cause burning sensations.
They're are plenty of Army Ant species in North America. People rarely see them because they're mostly active during the night, hunting.
This is generally true for common house ants as well. They are active and forage at all times of the day. There haven't been any actual studies on this in particular but from what I've observed from common house ants, particularly the Lasius Flavus(I believe at least) hunt more during the night than during the day. I've studied them and I've come to the conclusion that fractions of the colony rest and hunt/forage in shifts. This is why you can go outside at anytime in the 24 hours of the day and see an ant scurrying around looking to sink its mandibles into something.
It makes more sense for them to have a larger fraction of the colony hunt at night as most ants don't like the sunlight. This is also why many try to start nesting under a stone or log or any object that blocks out the sun. I've also concluded that Lasius Flavus tend to be more ravenous at night and more aggressive when it comes to the hunt.
In a short study I threw an earthworm outside the perimeter of a nest during the daytime. Only a few attacked it, most passed it up for something else to do. I threw the earthworm onto the nesting area and due to the disturbance it made more ants came to attack it, during the attack it attempted to burrow into one of their tunnels; even more came out to defend against the Earthworm. Finally, during the nighttime I threw another earthworm outside the perimeter of their nest and every ant that happened upon it locked its jaws into its flesh. One or more of the attackers signaled there was live food where the worm was. In only a minute or two many, many ants came to devour the worm even though it was no threat to the nest or colony. They did this purely to kill the worm for feeding purposes and not defensive purposes.

Can garlic be used as an ant killer?
Yes, using cloves of garlic along with cinnamon is said to help get rid of ants by discouraging them from entering your home or dwelling. The ants do not like the garlic, so they will not enter when garlic is present.
Yes, some ants can kill small mammals like rats and mice, cats, dogs and in very rare cases, small human children.
Fire ants often attack small animals and can kill them. Unlike many other ants, which bite and then spray acid on the wound, fire ants only bite to get a grip and then sting (from the abdomen) and inject a toxic alkaloid venom (piperidine). For humans, this is a painful sting, a sensation similar to what one feels when burned by fire - hence the name fire ant - and the aftereffects of the sting can be deadly to sensitive individuals. When these pesky critters invade an area, they do it with a vengeance. There will be enormous numbers of them which can dramatically reduce populations of native ants, other insects, and even ground-nesting wildlife.
