There are many places to learn about Macbook memory upgrades. One can go to the Crucial website or the Apple store website. Forums are another good way to learn about memory upgrades and can be found at macnn. YouTube is another great way to learn about them.

If your tv has a DVI input then you can get a DVI cable and connect your computer to your tv.

Also, you can buy a Component Video adapter for macbooks that allows them to connect.

However on new Mac's they run a MiniDisplay Port instead of Mini DVI so you'll need a MiniDisplay Port adapter to convert the signal to HDMI or DVI.

If you are in no hurry and are going to buy a brand new Macbook versus a Refurbished model then I would wait until the sometime in June or July 2016 when the new MacBook Pro comes out. It will have some nice innovations and will no doubt have the new Intel Broadwell processor which will be faster and use less energy which means longer battery life.
