Go into your local car shop an ask for a orange bulb for your car,that is if you have white lens cover,if you lens cover is orange just a standard bulb.

The Audi a4 water pump is not that hard of a job for an experienced technician. At my shop we charge about 6 hours labor for the timing belt, water pump, tensioner, tensioner pulley, and idler pulley. -- All these things should be replaced at the time of the water pump. Only one special tool is required; it is a bar used to hold the cams in time while the belt is off. If you are not an experienced tech, I would not recogmend trying to perform the job. One small mistake and you could end up with bent valves, assuming you have the 30v model. .

Here is the install procedure you should use and this applies to all new switches they have a purple housing:

1) Remove the bottom panel underneath your dashboard (if needed)

2) Push brake pedal down

3) Remove sensor electrical clip

4) Remove brake light switch by turning it 45 degrees to the left and pulling it out

5) Let go of brake pedal

6) Prep the sensor: make sure the plunger is pulled out fully (extended OUT) *warning* Make sure you do not push the plunger in at any time.

7) Here's the new step: Do not depress pedal as far as you can. Leave the pedal in it's normal position and push the brake light switch into the mounting hole.

8) You will hear several "clicks" which is essentially setting up the length of your plunger to the pedal. Turn the brake switch 45 degrees to the right to enable the "setting" for your brake. There is a tiny rotating part that activates the setting on your switch when you rotate it.

9) This is ONE time deal so if you mess up do not pull the plunger out to try again.

10) Install the electrical plug

11) Check brake lights, the lights should come on with very little brake pedal movement. If you need to depress the brake a lot in order for the lights to come on, you have done the "setting" part incorrectly. There's no fix for this, you'll have to get an exchange for a new part if they'll let you.

Overall this is an easy install but can be annoying because of the one time setting deal.

Lift bonnet, remove rubber seal on engine bulkhead (near battery), lift up plastic cover filter can be changed but can be a bit of a pain........ Mine has climate control hope it's the same model!

1) Open the boot/trunk!
2) There are two number plate light covers. They are white translucent plastic rectangles which are secured by one screw each. Unscrew them. This can be a bit fiddly -- ensure you put a lot of pressure into the screw so you don't strip the head.
3) Remove the plastic cover. The bulb fits into two metal springs attached to the cover itself.
4) Replace the cover and screw
5) The screws can corrode over time with salt and dirt from the road making them difficult to remove. It's a good idea to cover the mounting with clear plastic film to protect the screws from future corrosion.
