Can you grow avocado trees in New Jersey?

Yes, with caveats. Most avocado trees will die in the cold, true, if left alone. Articles I've seen from growers say that 32 degrees F or below would certainly kill an avocado tree. There are a couple of varieties that will survive to 18 degrees. Here in New Jersey, winter weather can be very unpredictable, so why chance leaving your avocado out to the elements?

Avocado trees grown in New Jersey can be brought indoors in cold weather. They can also be kept in a sheltered or heated greenhouse in cold weather.

Plant the tree in soil with good drainage, a mix of sand, bark and perlite is recommended. Use a container that is ceramic or of natural material with lots of drain holes. Important, too, is watering. Too much water or water left standing around the roots will cause root rot and that will cause the tree to die. Using proper soil and container when watering reduces the risk of root rot.

An avocado is like the earth because it has layers, like the earth. The skin of the avocado is like the crust of the earth, because it is hilly and like land, with mountains, hills and flat land. This " layer" is thin, like the crust. Just below the crust is the mantle, which would be the darker part, under the skin. This is flowy and smooth, just likethe mantle, which is cooler at the top and hotter at the bottom. causing the flow to go top to bottom the bottom to top. the lighter ppart would be the outer core, because of exterem similarity to the estimed liquid, and the pit is the inner core, because it is hard, like the inner core

How do you prep an avocado seed to eat?

It is possible to roast an avocado seed but I would not recommend it. You can slice the nut up and place it in the oven on low heat for 5-10 minutes but even then the bitterness of the nut does not go away and keeping the nuts in the oven for any longer than 10-15 will unfortunately result in burnt nuts.

What to do with an avocado nut?

No. [1] The avocado [Persea americana] is a flowering tree in the Lauraceae family. Fruit refers to the ripened ovaries of flowers. And the fruit of the avocado tree is the berry. Within the berry is a pit that protects the seeds inside. [2] Not all seeds are nuts. The only that are just have 1-2 seeds within a hardened stony or woody ovary. The seeds are separate from, and loose within, the ovary. [3] And all true nuts are members of just two families. One's the Betulaceae family of alder, birch, hazel, and hornbeam. The other's the Fagaceae family of beech, chestnut, oak, stone-oak, and tanoak.
