How do you go en pointe for the first time?
Before you start pointe work, you have been training with a professional trainer for some time, and it all depends on how young you started and how much you have progresses. It could take 10 years for say a very small person with small bone structure to go on pointe, but for some people, they may be starting pointe work after only a few years. Your trainer will let you know when you are ready; when you have the strength and technique. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO START POINTE WORK WITHOUT THE ADVISORY OF A PROFESSIONAL TRAINER OR WITHOUT A TRAINER HELPING YOU. Pointe work takes immense strength of the feet, ankles, and whole body really to be able to hold yourself up, and can be damaging to your feet if you start when you are not ready.
Once you and your trainer are sure you are ready for pointe, the actual movement for going up is simple. A good place to start is in first position: Stand in first position and engage your ankles and just press up. It's basicallt the same movement you would do if you were to go up onto the ball of your foot on the flat. But en pointe, you will go all the way up onto the tips of your toes so just roll through the ball of your foot, peeling each part of the foot (starting with the heel) off the ground. Hope that helps! Happy dancing!

My soft block ballet shoes really hurt any ways to break in?
The best way to break in pointe or soft block shoes is just to wear them a lot, do lot's of rises in first, and walk in them around the house and spring on to demi-pointe once in a while, and then wear them more. If you really are struggling, you can go put a tiny bit of water on the box, or "steam" them (When taking a shower, put them in the bathroom that you're taking a shower in, and let the heat make them softer. The softer the better.) I personally prefer just wearing them a lot, but it depends on the person and what they like.

Do gymnasts wear underwear when they wear a leotard?
no they dont but they wear hairspray on their butt to help the leotard not ride up
Some gymnasts do wear underwear. It really all depends on what is comfortable for you. I just went to gymnastics camp this past summer and almost everyone in my cabin wore underwear except me. So really it all depends on you. I was taught at my old gym not to wear underwear because if the underwear shows during a meet you get points deducted but other gymnasts just think its weird to wear a leotard without underwear so really it all just depends on you =)
some do, some don't. I noticed that the older girls at my gym all wore undies, but the younger ones didn't. I never did, but I also quit before I got too into puberty. You will get points off if they are showing, just like getting a deduction for picking a wedgie!
You don't if you take ballet. You will be wearing tights anyway, but if you wear leggings then yes.
Darcey Bussell is not dead and has recently created her own book series. Alive as ever!
WHO PLANS THE STEPS IN BALLET?
The person who puts together steps for a ballet dance is called a choreagrapher?
ballet comes from italy
Italy has just adopted this dance 400 years ago from India. In real, this dance has been originated from India around 80 000 to 90 000 years back. There was this super powerful girl named "Parvity" just to have "shiva" as her husband she did a 80 000 year tapsya in a froest. She learnt this dance from the Ostriches, peacocks, swans and other birds which is now named "BALLET".
400 years ago Italy adopted this dance and its popularity didnt increase. After 200 years, Switzerland adopted it followed by increasing its wings to France and it became really extreme popular there followed by Russia and than it became famous in the whole of Europe.
We shouldnt forget the originality please do not erase the heritage and history. In our shastre its all written. There was a campaign in Singapore about Ballet"s history.
