What is the best ballet school in US?
It depends on what type of school you are looking for, and what type of training you are seeking. If you are looking for classical ballet training, the top schools are generally associated with professional ballet companies. For example, the School of American Ballet trains their students for careers in New York City Ballet, and Pacific Northwest Ballet trains their students for their company as well. As far as colleges go, The Juilliard School has an outstanding dance program, as does SUNY Purchase, NYU Tisch, and University of California, Irvine.
Boys have a stereotype against ballet because they don't want to be seen as girly or feminine. Many people don't understand how much work it is to be a dancer. To be a dancer, you have to be strong and tough.
What type of costume is used in ballet?
Well, Ballet dancing had many types of different costumes.
There's tutus and dresses with flow bottoms, and sometimes people even use pants that look like a body suit but they are very flowy.
But if you are the choreographer you may decide what costume to use. There is no specific traditional type of ballet costume. Just make sure its not something outrageous and crazy because that brings the focus away from the beautiful dance we call ballet.
Men usually wear tights and either shirtless or a plain simple shirt on. They may even wear a tunic. Once again, nothing crazy because that brings the focus away from the beautiful dance moves that you choreographed.
If a woman can be anything she wants why cant a man be a ballerina?
There is nothing that says anything anywhere that men cannot be ballerinas. It is just uncommon because it is a woman's role since they are more elegant than men are.

How much are ballet dancers paid?
Median hourly earnings of dancers were $9.55 in May 2006. The middle 50 percent earned between $7.31 and $17.50. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $6.62, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $25.75. Annual earnings data for dancers were not available, because of the wide variation in the number of hours worked by dancers and the short-term nature of many jobs-which may last for 1 day or 1 week-make it rare for dancers to have guaranteed employment that exceeds a few months.<http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos094.htm>

Can you become a professional dancer without math?
You need 2 know math because you have 2 count the dance steps out!! if you dont count out the dance steps then you could do the wrong steps at the wrong time and your ceorgrapher would get mad. so i suggest that you do know math unless you want 2 get yelled at and possibly kicked out of that dance school/class

What is the hardest ballet step?
Answer 1
There are many difficult steps in ballet. More then 10 turns is difficult, yet getting the technique to get a clean triple is harder. Arabesques are equally hard along with fouttes. They get easier the more you practice.
Answer 2
If you put your mind to it, anything can be hard! Even the simplest tendu can be hard; you must maintain your turn out, pointe your foot well, and strengthen every muscle in your leg to make it look beautiful. When you work really hard at something, anything can seem to become difficult.
Can you teach yourself ballet?
I do not think you can. There are so many things you can learn. All the words used in ballet are french so you would need to learn those words. You need to be able to point out the details used in ballet. For example, in jazz, when you do a pirohuette turn, your leg by your knee is parallel and in ballet it is turned out. In ballet you all ways use opposites too. Also, you need to learn all the positions. When you do a performance, you don't always smile too. So you probally could not teach yourself ballet.
If not in ballet can you still get pointe shoes?
You can still buy pointe shoes, but if you haven't been trained in ballet you will not only be confused in how to do the moves, it would be very easy to get a serious injury from it. Ballerinas have to go through countless years of training to finally be able to dance on pointe.

I have danced 4 years before going up on pointe, before I went to my new studio I went put on pointe to early and it hurt my feet because they werent strong enough yet...and that was still after dancing 3 years. If you have no dance experience....that wouldn't be very smart.. Ballerina's toes have serious muscles taht help us. :)) but if you love dance... find a ballet studio and start!!
