In the US, yes.

(The motel term "twin" can mean having two single-size beds in a room.)

US basic bed sizes:

Twin/Single - 39 x 75 inches

Full /Double - 54 x 75 inches

Queen - 60 x 80 inches

King - 76 x 80 inches

The dimensions for a standard queen size bed in North America are 60 × 80 in or 152 × 203 cm.

I would say a twin, or something around that size. Unless you have a 6 foot tall 5 year old, they're not going to need that big of a mattress.

Between two and three Eruo Shams should be enough for your bed, it really depends on your tastes. But the rule would be two no more than three.
