Combining benzodiazepines with alcohol leads to amnesia more often that not. It's also a dangerous combination as both are depressants and can lead to severe respiratory depression, coma and even death.

I am prescribed 15mgs three times a day. I have been for quite some time. I suffer from a panic dissorder and have had great success with diazepam. I take a huge dose every day and have felt side effects, but nothing huge. I would recomend a 10 mg dose and not worry at all.

Most benzodiazepine equivalency charts show 10mg Valium = 1mg Ativan so it should work, HOWEVER, be cautious when subsitituting or combining benzos as effects are VERY relative to each person. Paradoxical reactions can occur in one benzo and not another. For example, My cousin can't take Valium- it makes her hyper and irritable, but 0.5mg Ativan knocks her out.

I'm not a doctor but I happen to have taken both together on two seperate occasions and both times I experienced what most will call a blackout period a lost of time if you will.....according to my fa?joy I was up speaking clearly walking around.....aside from my apparent bad choice of words I was ok..but the problem is I don't remeber these days at all. Since the second episode I've begets tried it again and I have been fine I still take b org medications but I wait several hours more like 8 before taking the other. Depending on what is the nature of the test. If a Doctor prescribes it to you then i wouldn't think you would be punished for it. However if your test is for example the military you may want to be sure the condition your doctor is treating you for does not exclude you from the military on medical grounds.

I'm assuming you mean naproxen (Aleve)? The answer is it depends. If you are taking Valium as an anticonvulsent for seizures you need to talk to your pharmacist or doctor. Otherwise there is no interaction I would be concerned about. An important thing to mention is do not drink alcohol while taking Valium and always take naproxen with food.

They are both benzodiazepines. If the drug tests for benzos in a generic way, either will produce a positive result. Some tests can detect a specific benzo.

A "typical" benzodiazepine has a standard chemical structure of a benzene and a diazepine ring fused with other chemical strucures fuzed to this ring at a certain place (usually they're called 1,4 Benzodiazepines). Atypical benzodiazepines include the thiobenzodiazepine Olanzapine (Zyprexa) as well as drugs that are pharmacologically very similar to 1, 4 Benzodieazepines (ex: Clobazam aka ONFI). Onfi has a slight variation in chemical structure but produces anticonvulsant and anxiolytic effects. Zyprexa has a significantly different pharmacological effect (it's an antipsychotic).

At a high enough dose it is similar to being drunk, so yes, of course. On a 0.25 mg for example, it may only calm you and not affect coordination.

I take it recreationally as well and I thought 6 mg at once was a huge amount. OD'ing is based on tolerance. I'd be less worried about her over dosing and more worried about withdrawl effects.
