Anything stored in cold temperatures actually shouldn't loose any effectiveness. Liquids become solids and solid become harder, sealing in the chemical content. Ask a pharmacist.

What happens to semen inside a woman when she is on the birth control pill?

If you are on a series of the pill then the potency of the pill is what sterilizes the sperms from fertilizing the egg. The semen just sits inside and mixes with all the other fluids in your body and dissapates eventually. Some does come right back out upon urination following intercourse. Which dont forget before sex and after sex to pee because it cleans out bacteria that can cause infections from the friction.

How can you prevent pregnancy?

  1. Abstinence - 100% effective, and completely counter to biology. It is important to recognize, however that this is the only 100% guaranteed method.
  2. Barrier protection (Condoms/Femdoms) - over 97% effective with the added bonus of protecting against STDs
  3. Oral Birth control pills - Hormone therapy that thickens the cervix to prevent sperm from getting through AND prevents ovulation in the first place so they have nothing to fertilize. Require very consistent daily use.
  4. Injected birth control - Once every three month hormone therapy.
  5. Nuva Ring- Ring you place near cervix each month that slowly releases hormones. Takes less consistency than oral birth control, but more commonly causes undesired side effects
  6. Fertility Awareness - Charting your basal body temperature, cervical position, cervical fluid and regularity of your cycle to know exactly when you ovulate and avoid having sex at the times when its possible to conceive ( which is only 5-7 days during each cycle. More effective than condoms and similar to oral pills if used perfectly but requires very specific training and more diligence. The most biologically natural way to prevent pregnancy and still have sex, and it will make it easier to conceive when you decide you want to.

Birth control, condoms, and abstinece.

The only 100% way to prevent pregnancy is by not having sex. If this is not possible, having your male partner use a condom while you use The Pill, a diaphragm or other blocking devise is very effective.

There is another method of birth control called Natural Family Planning that can also be very effective if you and your partner are willing to abstain from intercourse for several days every month. Not always practical for a young couple, but it is completely safe and very reliable if you follow the plan completely.

Use birth control, go on the pill, use condoms.

You can not become pregnant by the following:

  • Abstaining from sexual intercourse
  • Using condoms every time you have intercourse
  • Using birth control or another method of contraception.

More than likely you still can get pregnant.

In prevention of becoming pregnant contraceptive methods are used. All techniques have variations of effectiveness.

The most effective contraceptive methods are for the female to be on the pill, and a male to use a condom.

The pill alone comes in at 99% effectiveness, if used correctly. It is often hard to keep up with the daily doses of the pill, and additional medicines also alter the way the pill performs, such as antibiotics...not to mention stomach viruses.

But yes, this is why the condom should also be used, and in the prevention of transmitted infections and diseases.

If the condom breaks, the pill is there. If the pill doesn't work effectively, the condom is there.
Use a condom, use birth control, use dental dame, or just don't do it at all.
The easiest way is to not have sex. Since abstinence is not practical for millions of couples in loving, committed relationships (and others) the next best goal would be to always use birth control. Hormonal birth control, like the pill, ring or patch is up to 99% effective when used correctly. Add a condom to the equation and you have almost no chance of getting pregnant before you are ready.
YOu can choose to NOT have sex, or you can use birth control. YOu SHOULD use condoms, or have your partner use them. They protect against sexually transmitted diseases. Never asume that your partner is disease free, unless you've been married a lonjg time and your partner doesn't cheat! If you want your baby to be healthy you would need to look at the expiration date on the condom! Gross?

THerefore

1. abstinence

2. Birth control ( the pill or other birth control for women)

3. the CONDOM.... a MUST if you are having sex and are not married and planning babies!
The answer "don't have sex" isn't really helping anyone. If you're asking how to prevent pregnancy, you are obviously ready to have sex! Condoms work, and birth Control works, so chances are, you won't get pregnant if you do both!

But you should also note that condoms and birth control are not 100% effective. These forms of contraception work depending upon how well you use them. For example, birth control pills can be up to 99% effective, but only if taken properly. This means, taking your pill EVERY day, at the same time of day. You should also note that certain medications *such as antibiotics* can cause your birth control not to work. Condoms are about 95% effective when used properly. This means you should read the instructions about how to properly put on a condom before hand. Also, never double up on condoms. This can cause friction and make them tear, thus being less effective than even one condom.
#1 way and the most effective.. don't have sex
A method that prevents pregnancy 100% is abstinence (not having sex). Another method to prevent pregnancy that is pretty effective is birth control pills. When taken properly, birth control pills can be up to 99% effective! Another way of preventing pregnancy that is a little less effective is the use of condoms.
condoms love :)
There are many birth control options to prevent pregnancy. There are barrier methods like condoms, diaphragms, cervical caps and sponges that block sperm from entering the uterus and fertilizing an egg. Hormone methods like pills, patches, vaginal rings and shots prevent pregnancy by prohibiting ovulation. Natural methods include breast feeding and rhythm methods. Finally there are permanent options like tubal ligation and vasectomy.

Using one of the above methods is preferred. However, if there is a problem with the birth control method used, there are emergency contraception options that can reduce the chance of pregnancy if taken within five days after unprotected sex.
you have to use some contraceptive to prevent pregnancy.

Can birth control pills make you tired?

== == I totally agree with the last persons answer. I'm 17 years old and I've allways had lots of energy. After I started taking birth controll I couldent seem to get enough sleep. Depending on the person and the pill, they can definitely make you tired, you can even ask your gynecologist. I have had great energy my whole life until 3 years ago when I went on the pill. I am a very healthy person who exercises daily, doesn't smoke or drink, however, I am exhausted 24/7 and I know it is because of the bc and its effects on my estrogen levels and therefore my energy.

I'll add the same thought to that- the week I went on birth control I thought I was coming down with mono. I was exhausted non-stop and no matter how many hours a night I was getting of sleep, throughout the day I needed to take naps and rely on energy drinks. I'm currently on Orthotricyclin Low if that helps. Perhaps this brand is known for this side effect.

If you start birth control on the quick start method a week before your period is supposed to come will your period come when it normally does or not until the end of the first pill pack?

Starting use of birth control pills at any time can change when a period occures but there is no way to predict if it will for sure or by how much. A change is still possible even if you start on the last day of a period. After you've been on them for three months, you'll see how your bleeding pattern is likely to be.

What does it mean if you skipped your sugar pills so as not to get your period and now you are two weeks into your active pills and you have cramping and spotting and when will it go away?

Sometimes skipping the sugar pills can result in a earlier period which could be why you're cramping. After your period arrives the cramping should receed. Meanwhile don't miss anymore pills.

Can you become pregnant if you had unprotective sex but your boyfriend pulled out before he had an organism?

What if your period comes three days early while taking birth control?

Birth control pills/patches can really do a number on your hormones so it's quite common for your periods to be all over the place (especially when you first start taking them or you stop them.)

Im supposed to get your period in two weeks Im going on vacation and dont want it If i take birth control from now until then will i be okay and is it safe to just stop as soon as vacation is done?

BC pills and period

Birth control pills take about two weeks to fully protect you from pregnancy. If you take them for a month it is very rare that it will change your period. You have to take them everyday for about 3 months( depends on your body) to feel a difference in your cycle (period). It wont cause you any harm if you take them for less than a month and then stop. Best thing to do is wear a tampon, stay active, stretch a lot, drink plenty of water and avoid sodas. Dont forget the Midol okay! have fun on your vacation. P.S. Contact your nearest health clinic or look for a national hotline that will provide you with birth control information.

Does taking birth control stop a pregnancy?

If by birth control you mean the pill (birth control being the name for all methods including condoms etc) it prevents a pregnancy occurring in the first place rather than stopping it once it has started.

Can a doctor tell if you are on birth control through a urine test?

Doctors can test for pretty much any medicine that you are on depending on how long after taking the medicine (pill, patch, etc) the urine test was performed. Some drugs leave the body in a few days while others take a few weeks to fully get out of the body. So yes I believe a doctor could but I have never heard of someone testing for this on a urine test.

Can stopping the birth control pill cause cramping?

As your body gets ready to ovulate again, you may notice menstrual-like cramping.

Severe cramps are not normal after stopping the birth control pill. If your cramps are severe, or are accompanied by painful urination, painful sex, or abnormal vaginal discharge, see your health care provider for an exam.

I am on birth control. me and my boyfriend havent used a condom i just got my period and there was a huge blood clot i looked at it and picked it up it was skin like and hard to rip what is this?

The only way to tell would be if the blood and tissue from the earliest part of the 'period' was examined under a microscope. 10 days bleeding whether a period or a miscarriage is excessive and I suggest you see a doctor.

If you take the pill for a month get a couple regular periods then miss one what are the chances you are pregnant?

If you took birth control for one month and had a few periods then you need to see your doctor and change birth control. It doesn't sound like you are on the right type of birth control pills for you - hence the extra periods. You do need to perform a pregnancy test as there is a possibility you may be pregnant.

Your period came a week early and i dont take birth control whats wrong?

Most likely nothing. Your schedule is not completely regular. Most likely nothing. Your schedule is not completely regular or it could be affected by stress diet new exercise routine any sort of life change that may affect your body.

Can you take 2 or 3 birth control pills after your period starts to stop it?

Only take 1 pill a day(not 2-3)and stop taking them when you want your period to return. Do not do this for long periods of time without consulting your Doctor. If you take pills monthly and do not give yourself a break during the 7 day placebo pills you will not have a period during those times. The max amount of time you should do this is 2-3 months. Then take a break and start again. This method is usually used for people with heavy periods or dysfunctional bleeding patterns. If you want to do it long term get a birth control pill called Seasonal.

If you missed an active pill and a sugar pill will your period be delayed?

If you miss approx. 3 active pills then you will start your period, but as long as you catch up (on your pills) your period should come as scheduled. If you just miss your last active pill then the next pill is your sugar pill, you should just take them both as soon as you remember. If you've already taken them (2 pills at once) your period should be on schedule still. Call your doctor, pharmacy, or hospital to be sure. I'm pretty sure it won't mess up your period, and I'm almost positive that this accident won't increase your chances of pregnancy (as long as you took both pills as soon as you remembered and it was only 2 pills).

Can you take birth control to jump start your period?

You can take birth control to have a show of vaginal bleeding, but birth control does not "jump start" your period. When you stop taking it, you are likely to return to your previous pattern of menstrual bleeding (or lack thereof) unless something else changes in your body.
