Exclusively on the island of Madagascar - IF there are any left ! The Madagascar tree boa is an endangered species.

According to Wikipedia, Large boa constrictors can weigh up to 27 kg (60 lb). Females, the larger sex, more commonly weigh 10 to 15 kg (22 to 33 lb.) Some specimens of this species can reach or possibly exceed 45 kg (99 lb.)

There are three ways to sex a snake. You can pop, probe, or "feel". Popping is when you turn their internal sexual organs inside out, which is designed more for fat-tailed snakes such as ball pythons. Probing is when a lubricated probe is inserted into the cloaca, and the depth it is inserted determines the sex. This should only be done by experienced handlers. You can also "feel" the snake to determine the sex. By running your finger along its tail from the vent to about halfway down the tail, you can determine if it's male or female. If you feel a "pop" kind of like a rubber band snapping, then you have a male, if not, then a female. Hope this helps!

They're quite popular for those keepers who have gained some experience in keeping reptiles. They're not suitable as a 'beginner' species - due to their unpredictable nature, and requirement for large living quarters as adults - and food to match !

They are the same because they both have enough power to kill a human but in my opinion I think the Boa is more dangerous.

All snakes shed their skin. Sidenote: hippos live in africa, and there are no boa species in africa big enough to eat a hippo. Even crocodiles won't dare go for a hippo. Hippos have been seen simply biting a crocodile in half. There are no snakes on earth (I don't even think a retic could) that could eat a hippo.

The boa is able to dislocate/unhinge its jaw to get it around an animal that would appear to be bigger than its head when the jaw is connected. Once it does that, it can stretch its mouth around the animal and start pulling it in for digestion.

Humans definitely impact on the lives of boas. We are slowly but gradually destroying their habits thus killing the boa's homes in South America. Humans also keep these magnificent creatures as pets, keeping them captive in cages. Not at all I recommend them as good pets unless your a beginner then I would go with a ball python
