Can punching in the breast cause breast cancer?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

No, this would be impossible.

Cancer, depending on the type, can be caused by many things, but never physical contact.

Cancer can be caused by:

  • Carcinogens
  • Aging
  • Genetic makeup
  • Bad immune systems
  • Smoking
  • Drugs
  • Alcohol
  • Poor diet
  • Too much sun (basically if you sunbathe 24 hours a day)
  • Radiation
  • Asbestos
  • Viruses
  • Bacterial infections

However you may want to press charges against whomever punched you. That is unacceptable.

Is cancer bad for you?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Depends what unhealthy means. If unhealthy involves smoking then yes. If unhealthy refers to diet and exercise, I don't believe it's associated with cancer, but it can cause a lot of other bad things! (so just don't be unhealthy, because even if it isn't related to cancer, heart attack, stroke, arteriosclerosis etc. can also kill you)

How does the nutrition of the mother affect the fetus?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Yes.

The fetus can't decide what to eat or drink, it gets everything from the mother. If the mother gets what she needs, then the fetus can get what it needs. If the mother is eating junk, then the fetus is getting junk. If the mother does drugs, some of those are passed on to the fetus as well.

Sometimes, babies born by addicted mothers have to go straight to rehab to cure them of their addicitions.

How do you know when you might have breast cancer?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Lump(s) will appear on your breasts. The lumps can come in all sizes, so if you notice any bumps on the outer skin of your breast(s), call your doctor and let him/her check you out; it's the most reasonable thing to do. Cancer can also makes you very tired and the body can ache like a infection. please support it...............
Feel around your breast, squeeze a tiny bit, and feel around for a lump, if there is one, there is a chance you do have cancer. If you find one, dont freak out, it might not even be cancer. Just go to your doctor and let him check it out, then they might do blood tests to make sure.

Is fluid from breast cancer infectitous?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

It is unlikely that fluid from breast cancer is infectious. Most cancers are non-infectious, they develop because of a mutation in that person's DNA - therefore fluids from that person should not be infectious. There are however some infectious causes of cancer, such a small number of viruses.

If you are concerned that you have come into contact with hazardous material consult your doctor.

What is brown skin called around breast nipple?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The medical term for the circle of pigmented skin (which isn't necessarily "brown") is "areola" (plural "areolae"). Technically, any differently colored roughly circular patch of skin (for example, a red inflamed area around a wound) can be called an "areola," and if you want to be perfectly clear that you're talking about the one around the nipple you should say areola mammae. However, outside a technical medical journal if you just say "areola" most people will assume that's what you mean.

What organs does breast cancer attack?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

By labeling it Breast Cancer you are noting where it began and what is being attacked: the breast.

Cancer (of any kind) can spread to additional organs or locations in the body; once it does this is called metastases.

Once it begins to spread, it can attack any and all systems of the body; eventually leading to death.

Though it can attack anywhere, most types of cancer have a semi-predictable spread pattern. This is due to a combination of it's location (access to blood and lymph nodes, etc) and it's cell structure (since the cancer retains aspects of the original cell type it grew from: in this case, breast/fat cells)

Breast cancers typical attack pattern spreads from the breast to:
1. Lymph Nodes (under the arm or along the center of the rib cage, or near the collar bone)
2. Muscle, fat tissue and skin (usually in or around the original tumor location)
3. Bones (typically the ribs, spine, pelvis or long bones of the legs/arms)
4. Bone Marrow
5. Liver (which is at risk with most cancers due to its blood filtering function)
6. Lungs
7. Brain

However, as with any cancer, it can technically spread to any system. These are just the ones with the highest initial risk of spreading.

Which term refer to a self-care procedure for the early detection of breast cancer?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Screening refers to tests and exams used to find a disease, like cancer, in people who do not have any symptoms. The goal of screening exams, such as mammograms, is to find cancers before they start to cause symptoms. Breast cancers that are found because they can be felt tend to be larger and are more likely to have already spread beyond the breast. In contrast, breast cancers found during screening exams are more likely to be small and still confined to the breast. The size of a breast cancer and how far it has spread are important factors in predicting the prognosis (outlook) for a woman with this disease.
